Would it be possible to import RSA and ECC Root Certificates with same common name and if not, is there a way to import them both using Root certs algorithm, as common name cannot be modified?

Cisco will close the their collobration department and CUCM will be end of sale soon. So, replacing the CUCM with 3CX or Yeastar is best solution.

Great video! BTW, it's common to use certificates installed on Windows (or other OS types) and EAP-TLS for authentication. Typically this is machine certs issued by an AD domain but you can also authenticate against user certificates. It doesn't have to be a smartcard cert, but that is definitely an option too.

@reneelyon7328
@reneelyon7328 2 жыл бұрын
@@bretthall7795 The Device Name is a concatenation of "CSF" and the User's ID. This is our standard when manually creating the CSF. It makes it easier to find in our organization because they are unique. I was finally able to bulk them a different way, by creating a Phone Template for CSFs with a common configuration. I then created a simple CSV with the staff members' specific information (device name, description, user ID, owner ID, line, and descriptive line fields). I then used the *Insert Phones Specific Details* bulk task to bulk the phones in. The next step will be to modify the End User configuration of the staff members to give them the proper Service Settings, UC Service Profile (we have 3), and Access Control Group.

I just came across this vide and I'm glad that I did. I'm still on 12.5 and only use self signed certs with 1 publusher and 7 subs. An annoyance with using Jabber is that initially, I have to approve/ok all the cert propmts for each callmanager server. In CUCM 14, might grouping all the subs and pub in the Multi-server(SAN) limit my jabber certificate acceptance prompt to one?

Brett. thank you for your great video and sharing. I am tasked to move 50K iPhone Jabber (TCT) from one CUCM cluster to another SSO CUCM cluster. My environment is 24X7, so I need to create these 50K TCT users in a very short time, when the users can do SSO sign-in; I need to remove those 50K users in the old CUCM cluster. Using your way to create 50K users, can it deploy the Users, Devices(TCT), DN at the same time? Thank you.
@bretthall7795
@bretthall7795 2 жыл бұрын
Willie, thanks for the question. I think you could create new TCT devices using my method, but I have never tried this before. Using BAT to create new users is a separate process which isnt needed if the new cluster will have SSO enabled. If the new cluster doesnt have LDAP sync configured, the new users will need to be imported via BAT or some other mechanism before creating the TCT devices. Hope this helps, it seems like you have a a lot of work on your hands in order to migrate 50k users and devices!

@@bretthall7795 Brett, thank you for your help and response. I open a Cisco Tac case, they indicated export then import will be more consistent operations. I am trying to avoid 2 steps import ( devices and Lines, then link users to devices and lines), I hope the BAT can import 12k devices/ users per job and 4-5 jobs will be done. The BAT is faster than 3rd party tool, I guess this is a better way, I will update you when I complete this project. Thank you again.

Hi there. Your vids have been very helpful to me. Had a couple questions on mandatory fields if you don’t mind. 1) For the ELIN I noticed route/translation is mandatory, why is your default one 10.911? From a call path example: User phone dials 911 -> matches pattern in cucm and hits CTI RP -> Goes to CER -> then translates to 10.911 in CER (?) -> back to CUCM -> matches a 10.911 pattern then goes to a gateway/CUBE. Is this just about correct? 2) For the ALI what is a customer code and why is that mandatory? Been trying to google for an answer on this and not sure why it’s been so difficult
@bretthall7795
@bretthall7795 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Ruby, sorry for the much delayed response. Some organizations span different PSAPs or responders. The idea is that you can use certain route patterns (e.g. 10.911) to steer 911 calls out different voice gateways if this is the case. You have the call path correct. Hope this helps!

Brett, you are a god amongst men! Cisco killed their Hybrid calling in Webex a few days ago and with that we lost all of our auto created spark integrations for all users in CUCM. I knew how to setup CSF but was doing it per user which was a very tedious process. This totally came in the clutch!!!

Nice video on new features. Biggest issue with CA signed certs is the cost associated with it. If you have multi cluster with many nodes, it can add up real fast in a zero trust infrastructure where they balk at anything more than 6 mos cert validity. My 2 Cents.

I used cube for long time but recently started using Oracle Border Control. The difference between Cisco Cube and Oracle product (cube) is so much that 1st I got shocked as there is no comparison i can do between them. Oracle is 20th century product with so much details and GUI. It provide u graphs, exact call traces graphically, , handle more calls than cisco while while cisco cube can be labelled as cave people in front of SBC it. It is my personal perspective you can check urself.

@@mandeepmails as a long time cisco Engineer i just realised that other vendors are doing wonderful jobs too. I am a cisco Engineer not an Oracle engineer but I really wish Cisco Cube can come 50% equal or more to Oracle product. It is just like comparing DOS with Windows NO comparison. Technically big issues for example if you need to trace lot of calls for different reasons only in cisco CUBE you need to capture logs or do searching is a lengthy task and not like Oracle all GUI and so quick traceability. Anyway not saying cisco is bad but saying they have lot to improve for smaller customer Cisco Cube is cheaper and will do but medium or larger customers CUBE is not a great choice
