Brett, you are a god amongst men! Cisco killed their Hybrid calling in Webex a few days ago and with that we lost all of our auto created spark integrations for all users in CUCM. I knew how to setup CSF but was doing it per user which was a very tedious process. This totally came in the clutch!!!

Good tutorial with jabber being second device needs for associating Owner User ID. Maybe another tutorial can be - What would be the easiest way to associate Owner user ID with Existing Phones and jabber devices ? Thanks

I have the same question.. Great video though! I have yet to check, but I am hoping that my jabber export has a column or two that shows this because our current csf's have it...

Can I use this to edit multiple devices that already exist. I'm in the process of making everything standardized.

BAT does have the ability to update phones and lines. This video was mostly about adding Jabber Softphones, so unfortunately I am not sure it will 100% fit your use case

Brett. thank you for your great video and sharing. I am tasked to move 50K iPhone Jabber (TCT) from one CUCM cluster to another SSO CUCM cluster. My environment is 24X7, so I need to create these 50K TCT users in a very short time, when the users can do SSO sign-in; I need to remove those 50K users in the old CUCM cluster. Using your way to create 50K users, can it deploy the Users, Devices(TCT), DN at the same time? Thank you.
@bretthall77952 жыл бұрын
Willie, thanks for the question. I think you could create new TCT devices using my method, but I have never tried this before. Using BAT to create new users is a separate process which isnt needed if the new cluster will have SSO enabled. If the new cluster doesnt have LDAP sync configured, the new users will need to be imported via BAT or some other mechanism before creating the TCT devices. Hope this helps, it seems like you have a a lot of work on your hands in order to migrate 50k users and devices!

@@bretthall7795 Brett, thank you for your help and response. I open a Cisco Tac case, they indicated export then import will be more consistent operations. I am trying to avoid 2 steps import ( devices and Lines, then link users to devices and lines), I hope the BAT can import 12k devices/ users per job and 4-5 jobs will be done. The BAT is faster than 3rd party tool, I guess this is a better way, I will update you when I complete this project. Thank you again.

Followed this exactly, and got "CSFlXXXXXXXX DEVICE :: Error : A character to numeric conversion process failed" (where X is a number from 0-9).
@bretthall77952 жыл бұрын
hmm...Not sure. Any reason you didnt consider using the name of the user of CSF device such as CSWRLYON instead?
@reneelyon73282 жыл бұрын
@@bretthall7795 The Device Name is a concatenation of "CSF" and the User's ID. This is our standard when manually creating the CSF. It makes it easier to find in our organization because they are unique. I was finally able to bulk them a different way, by creating a Phone Template for CSFs with a common configuration. I then created a simple CSV with the staff members' specific information (device name, description, user ID, owner ID, line, and descriptive line fields). I then used the *Insert Phones Specific Details* bulk task to bulk the phones in. The next step will be to modify the End User configuration of the staff members to give them the proper Service Settings, UC Service Profile (we have 3), and Access Control Group.
