What's the tuning of the tin whistle? Amazing cover!

I first found this song 11 months ago and I commented on it then. I'm not back for anything which has to do with that comment. I'm back because over that 11 months, I have pulled up this video, this song, this version, dozens, probably approaching a 100 times or more. No, I don't have some frightening obsession with the Pagan Minstrel. I come back because of the Old Norse. I love the song in general, don't get me wrong. I've covered this song myself on Bass. I don't sing though. I come back to it because I want, I'm inclined to say that I NEED to hear it again. It's something I won't even try to explain. It's not that "I like" or "love it" or anything like that. It's that I'm drawn to it, it feels familiar, there is something bigger and far beyond myself, which I cannot confidently point out, and that is what makes this version, for me personally, a highly spiritual experience. I am commenting once again because you're the only one who translated this into the language that it needed to be done in. 🥰🥰 I came back to comment again to thank you for this. Sincerely, it brings my soul to a place of comfort and familiarity {in the "otherworldly" realm} that is, generally speaking, highly scarce in my existence. With what you have created here, you've taken me to a very specific place which has allowed me to experience something that is another level deeper than anything I can recall before this. 🥰 I appreciate what you've done in this to a degree that I don't believe I understand all the way still. I see enough though and this is very special. 🥰 Thank you, truly. 🥰🥰 & of course... Skål! 🍻

...because the song moved you. Because deep down... you're a Viking. This was some ancestor calling you.

My first introduction to this song was the voiceplay version. If Geoff Castelucci learned Old Norse you two could put together something spine chilling!

As someone whom have actually worked along side Experts in old Norse research for years (Roskild Viking Museum denmark) While this do sound lovely to claim it is Old Norse is incorrect as no one really knows HOW old Norse sounded or how it should be spoken. The general consent though is that the Closest we can come would be Islandic.

So would those who these verses were originally written about - when they jumped ashore from their longships.

Never have I heard a song that spoke to my blood the way this one did with her stunning voice and commitment to using Old Norse rather than the still beautiful Icelandic...❤

The same here. But the blood freezes when one spots a longship in the distance, on their way towards one's shore. Just like what my forefather experienced - they were on the ship.

When I'd enjoyed chimichangas. On the way to my wife's medical appointment. Sure enough,it cut loose. Our driver almost had to pull into a convenience store lot. His eyes teared up. That was a spicy ninja fart.
