might need to work on balance and the amount of air they are putting in there horn on the high notes, stronger sound as well

Awesome job, Lindale Band! It's been almost 35 years since I played on the drum line... but that snare cadence is still burned into my mind and hands. Such excellence and teamwork. 35 years later... those lessons will stick with you. And great xylophone work up front! Keep it up! (class of 1991)

This is EXACTLY how high school marching bands should perform. No props, just musicality, actual marching, period. Love this performance and will enjoy our first season with them in 2024.

So proud to have grown up in Carthage Texas and I marched in the Bulldog band, way back when, lol, as my kids say I came over on the Mayflower! I played percussion but marched with cymbals. I loved playing them, I kept them real shiny & l could twirl them up in the air! One night I didn't tie the leather straps back tight enough & when I twirled them up real high one of them went air borne & flew right over the head of our drum major that year who was Francie Fitch. She never knew it until we got off the field, lol. We were always told if we dropped something, like lost a shoe, keep marching even in competition so I had to carry on. Our band Director was Mr. Sam Burke. I sure loved that man. I loved band, it was my life besides my church. All my friends were in the band. I had several drum majors, Tommie Jo Ritter was drum major and one more I can't remember. This was in the mid 60's. A bunch of us ladies connected years later and started having a reunion once a year and lots of us were in the band so we gave Francie a whistle & we all lined up & marched & laughed our butts off. Francie asked me if I tied my cymbals tight. Band is so fun, even 50+ years later.

There was a few marching related issues - especially noted in the final piece. however, it was fixed quickly! Music was great, really good low brass and good and strong tone. Only other complaint is in the final piece in the last phrase, it sounded as tubas were playing exponentially louder and didn't leave alot of room for a true low brass crescendo at the end. I feel as if a ( 1 - Superior ) is due!

Love watching them and reminiscing way back to when I too was a proud marching Bulldog band member. I was in the percussion but only marched with cymbals but I loved them. I could twirl those cymbals way up over my head & never miss a beat. Band was my life. I'm 75 so you do the math, lol. I live in Alabama & bands out here don't March military style or even march much. Funny, the uniforms are just like we wore, as my son tells me when I came over on the Mayflower, lol. But, he was in the band 7 years like his mama. Just didn't appreciate our style of marching. We're coming "home" to Carthage this October 11th for 5 days & I was so hoping y'all would be playing at home so we could come see the band in person. My husband is from Nebraska & they also marched military style but he says Carthage is much better. Love to all the Bulldog fans from an Alumni of the 60's.

That first March they played….everyone in Longview for generations should know it by heart because this band has been using it non-stop for at least 50 years. Looking good as usual. But this band was much more disciplined and cleaner under John Kunkel in the 70s and 80s
