It’s funny but I can’t really think of any iconic call of his off the top of my head the way I can for Allen Bestwick or Mike Joy. But whenever I watch clips of old races and hear his voice alongside Wally and BP it takes me back to the summers I spent with my grandpa. He wasn’t a big NASCAR fan but he liked watching the races with me.

I believe Bowman Gray did more than enough to earn a 2026 Clash date. I'm not against the Brazil idea (even though most fans hate road courses) but I'm for the Madhouse returning in 2026. Without the Clash and All-Star Race, i doubt Bowman Gray or Wilkesboro would have ever been on the cup schedule again.

I so want to say Kyle Busch for the win at Daytona I would love to see it he's been my boy since 08. He's my number one driver. Butt to be straight up honest with the streak he's on I think Ryan blaney finally gets it done at Daytona for the 500.

My favorite Weber call was also a win for my former favorite driver, Jamie Mac.... It was the 2007 Pepsi 400, In a casting swap of the Daytona 500, we had Mac edge out KFB in a similar fashion to Harvick edging out Mark Martin. A fingernail and a whole lot of OMGs in front of a sea of flashing photo lights... That race was epic, and Voti has it in MASTER TAPE QUALITY.

Bill Weber is a really strong person to take a job as a commentator I remember him as a pre race announcer before the race started in 2001 Pepsi 400 and all the way to the championship races he is one of best commentators ever in NASCAR history. I hope and pray to see Bill Weber in the NASCAR Hall of Fame

I like seeing Bill Weber as a play by play broadcaster, man, when I watched NASCAR for the first time in 2005 at Chicagoland, 20 years ago, that was my first time hearing him on TV, while I saw Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s victory, and it was a memorable moment from him that I liked, as a former pit road reporter, pre race host, and an announcer. Rest in Peace, Bill Weber, I'll never forget your legendary voice forever

Like some people, I was one of those fans who didn’t fully appreciate NASCAR on NBC/TNT back in NASCAR’s heyday in the Gen 4/Winston Cup era as I preferred NASCAR on Fox/FX especially DW and Steve Byrnes as well as Hammond who I met at MIS in June 2005 at age 11 before coming home to that Game 5 thriller my Spurs won in OT vs the Pistons in the NBA Finals which also was in Michigan where I lived at the time in the Lenore House which got me started as a NASCAR fan. The only things I appreciated were the usage of *Fuel* by Metallica and the fact that Bill himself and BP were my homeboys over everybody else just like how Waltrip, Byrnes, Hammond and Myers were my homeboys over Mike, Larry Mac, Berggren and Zelasko who never would last the entire year on Fox with NASCAR since she was more exclusive to MLB on Fox although later on, Yocum slowly became my last homeboy since he stuck around for so long after the original NBC/TNT package left in 07 and Benny died a month before the season began which made me sad as I was looking forward to listening to him for the TNT reboot if he was able to make progress with his lung cancer which sadly wasn’t the case. But once the original NBC/TNT was long gone, I began to appreciate more outside of Benny, Bill and eventually Yocum who I finally met at MIS in June 2019 as he thanked me for having him part of entirety as a NASCAR fan since my childhood so yeah that was cool I met him and Hammond but more importantly, I met Weber too as a 12 year old at MIS in August of 06 and June of 07 at age 13 and in the latter encounter, he was incredible with the fans including myself and my dad and he was kind enough to be funny with me when I shoved my lanyard through the fence for him to sign which he humorously but gently yanked it forward causing me to slowly lean forward into the fence where the TNT setup was which goes to show how great of a guy and person he was. Made me sad reading it on Facebook earlier this week. Another piece of my childhood gone that my younger friends who are still in school and didn’t get to witness the heyday of NASCAR due to not being alive then will get to know/learn about to turn me into the History Channel for them. Rest In Peace Bill Weber and Man Oh Man Benny Parsons

It might be partially nostalgia but I did always like the way he called races. He had the right voice and a pretty good flow to it minus the occasional blunder (Not as bad as Rick Allen tho). I'd still rank Bestwick over him but he was still pretty good and watching old races he called definitely brings me back to the golden days of Nascar. It's a shame Nascar didn't atleast put out a small tribute to him considering he broadcasted for them for 10+ years and played a pretty dominant role during their peak era. Wish he would've made an appearance on the DJD to hear stories he had and maybe what exactly went down on the New Hampshire weekend that made him leave the sport. RIP Bill Weber thank you for the memories!

I didn't truly appreciate how solid Nascar on NBC was in the 2000s until it was long gone as I was a big Nascar on Fox Fan (Still got Hammonds autograph from Bristol 03). But Dang the production level, the music, the hype, the sport, commentary was at an all time high back then. Rest in peace Weber. Enjoy commentary with Man Oh Man BP in heaven.

Wow this is a shocking discovery. I'm sad to hear this! The only real memory I had of him "live" is when I went to a Michigan race in '98. It was Friday Qualifying and me and my friend was behind the pit wall on the walkway. When we approached the spot where the cars was exiting from the garage area and onto pit road I saw Bill Weber power walking frantically out of there. As much as I wanted to say hi to him, you can see it in his eyes he was focused on doing his job so I didn't want to interfere with his possible "interview." He was in the ESPN race suit with a mike in his hand with a camera man following him. But for the most part I will always remember him for is from Inside Nascar (Inside Winston Cup Racing) with Randy Pemberton and Ned Jarrett & of course the "Count down to green" show on NBC. RIP: Bill Weber

I feel Bill Weber has a complicated legacy in regards to NASCAR. As a pre-show host & pit reporter, no one had any issues with him. But when NBC decided to make him lead announcer after 2004, a lot of people soured on that & him because he replaced Allen Bestwick. Being a Bestwick fan, I admittedly was one of those people back then... But thinking about it now, & with the lead announcers we've had since then, I think a lot of us now realize that it was extremely unfair of us to ridicule Bill just because he wasn't Bestwick. Bill was definitely very good with his words & detailing everything, especially with voiceovers & pre-race segments. Yeah sometimes he overdid it, but that is something most, if not all, broadcasts extremely lack today. A lot of people didn't know this, but NASCAR is not where his broadcasting career ended. He was lead broadcaster for the H1 Unlimited Series on Versus in 2011. After that, he presumably retired as he hadn't been heard from since. Honestly I'm not sure he ever wanted to return to NASCAR. To the best of my knowledge he had no social media, so we know nothing in regards to him for the past 14 years _(Except allegedly a reddit post claiming someone found him & took a picture with him a few years back, but honestly I'm not convinced it was actually him)._ Whatever happened _(And after what I heard on the NWP episode from yesterday, I dread it was something tragic),_ hopefully he's at peace now... 💔🙏
