Director Coralie Fargeat loves Margaret Qualley's butt to distraction. The fact it's a female director only marginally helps with the creep factor. The star ear-rings are a reference to Fargeat's previous film Revenge.

Hold on, I loved this reaction until you said “she went into her space” Glinda literally gave her like a 6 by 4 foot space and took the rest of the room up with her shit… come on now.
@briannadancereader8 күн бұрын
To clarify, “she” as in Galinda went into Elphaba’s space to spread out her belongings there without Elphaba’s permission. The invasion of Elphaba’s personal space, gave Elphaba permission to go into Galinda’s = “So, Galinda deserved this, yeah, yeah, yeah.” 08:35 While neither should mess or touch each other’s belongings as a rule, Elphaba had the right to put Galinda’s items back on her side of the room, in that case. Sorry if I wasn’t clear.

Best reaction. Not enough people talking about how precise, nuanced, clever, and intricate this entire scene is, from the music to the choreo. Whole movie was phenomenal but THIS specifically was an absolute work of art. Like you said, it’s just so FUN

New person here. From an average fan of the show, allI can say about this adaptation is that the love for this show pours right of the screen. I was blown away by the direction, cinematography, choreography of this film.

One of my favorite things about this is something they carried throughout all of the performances: the way the sound effects become part of the music. The stomps, the cutlery, props, everything comes in on the beat. It adds a layer of excitement to the performance.

This is probably my favorite reaction to this, right from the “yeah!……YEAH!” at the start. We love a true fan reaction. 💕 One of my favorite bits of choreo is when they’re fighting over the desk and the girl sits so Elphaba can’t have it. Every single movement is on beat with the music, from the desk tilting back and forth to her sitting to Elphaba and Glinda looking at each other. That’s serious attention to detail. I’ve seen this film seven times and it just keeps getting better and better and I keep freaking crying.

I cannot get enough of this song with this dance. I watch it almost daily. There is so much going on, and it never gets old because you can concentrate on particular individuals each viewing. I cannot imagine the work it took to pull this off. Watching the slide along the line, where as you noted the guy carrying the woman - subtly distracts from the other guy pulling a woman from the back. I cannot think of anything I've watched with both the unity and individuality harmonizing so well. This is next level creativity.

You'll find more of them if you search YT, the choreographer is Omar Molina. There's 1 vid that shows him working with different subsets of the dancers. They do this same dance for a competition in a different venue, so there are slight differences forced by the venue.

I'm thinking of doing a reaction video (not first time watching, but a breakdown reaction/rewatch) for the live performance that was filmed. It's awesome! Also, thank you so much for naming the choreographer/clarifying. I'll add it to the video description.

@briannadancereader Well, I'm confused, now I've seen a video from 2023 where Sergio Reis says he's the choreographer and director of the group. That's part of some videos they shot for Gap! Maybe they have different choreographers for different gigs? Sorry if I passed on bad information!
@briannadancereader29 күн бұрын
@@justtube1672 It could be that Omar is the dance captain or Assistant to the Choreographer. I'll include both names in the description, just in case, under creatives or team to be safe. Thanks for letting me know!

@@briannadancereaderOmar Molina did a different performance with this song. Sergio Reis is the choreographer of CDK company in the Netherlands. I don’t think it has any connection to Omar Molina. Sergio Reis also did the GAP commercial and Troye Sivan video’s with dancers drom CDK Company.

The most demoralizing person in the studio is Gina. Even if she does not want to be that way, she works as a demon to harm everyone else and to block the first place on the pyramid. There is no positive effect on the others. No one' s work ethic improves. I think Gina is an idea executed by the producers to stir up drama. And they succeeded. There is more tears than in Abby' s studio.

Fun fact: the only reason Lily was out of the group dance is because she was sick so she was under the table. She also had a solo called Weird Barbie who was pulled. Gina was entered in the competition with Cinema Paradiso because Lily wasn't able to do her solo.

I enjoyed your reaction very much. I wish there was an expansive documentary of the special effects. Because I am thinking even the opening epitaph film title might have been stop motion - kind of like the fireplace opening for the ghost priest was filmed (in the original film)

I ADORE Tim Burton he’s one of my favorite filmmakers! However BeatleJuice for me, ranks low amongst his filmography. I love everything about the original except for the character of BeatleJuice. He really brings that film down for me. I’m not a fan of how perverted and gross he is. Trying to look under women’s skirts, attempting to marry a teenager, I really dislike him in that first film. So I wasn’t that enthusiastic about the idea of a sequel. I felt if Tim Burton had to make a sequel to his older work, I would’ve loved to see Old man Edward Scissorhands, but I digress. They definitely toned down the perverted side of BeatleJuice. This time he reminded me much more of his animated counterpart. I actually really enjoyed his character in this film, which is something I didn’t expect. I know it wasn’t referenced but I would like the think that the animated series is canon. What I enjoy about that show, is how it subtly implies that the “friendship” between Lydia and BeatleJuice is toxic and unhealthy. Something this film definitely leans into while Contrasting it against the toxic relationship Lydia has with her fiancé. This film feels like a commentary of abusive, toxic obsessive relationships. Tim Burton has definitely matured as filmmaker since the first Beatlejuice and I know this is probably a hot take, but I loved this sequel way more than the original. You are right the lighting and visual style of this film is absolutely stunning!
