I have a story abt the branding of Jojo: I work at Kohl’s an one thing about Kohl’s is that it’s hard to get good merchandise on big pop culture icons, especially in the Kid’s department which I work in the most. A couple years ago, the staple kids brief company which we use as a vendor to provide us kid’s underwear, partnered with Jojo Siwa and her merchandising company to make Jojo Siwa print underwear for little girls… Mind you, that was the only thing Jojo Siwa related product we had in this building. No bows, no t-shirts, no dolls, just underwear… This was especially weird because these products were put on our sales floor after she just turned 18 and it really rubbed me and other co-workers that wrong way, having a full grown adult, continuing to dress like a child, marketing products for kids. About two weeks prior to the allegations and the announcement on a rebrand for Jojo, we got a shipment of probably forty of these packaged underwears for girls… and we were expected to put them all out on the sales floor the day of. Then once the allegations became public and Jojo started acting more and more… innapropriate, we were forced to clearance these packages down to $2.75 a package. which is incredibly cheap when we have our 50% off clearance deals ever month. But yet they still remain on our clearance rack, most likely because there is not a single kid in the Jojo siwa fanbase that isn’t traumatized by her actions… It’s sad and funny to realize that in a way, this rebrand is causing her to lose money as well as her reputation…

I loved Alisha, LaurDIY and she was dating Alex Wassabi at the time and I also watched his videos and their breakup was sooo sad to me. And my friend and I memorised their Roast Yourself songs. I also loved watching Good Mythical Morning, I would watch them every single day first thing when I come home from school. Whenever I DO find someone now that also grew up with the lifestyle beauty gurus that made their videos so colouful, Alisha, Niki and Gabi, Mylifeaseva, LaurDIY, etc I just feel connected and understood as if our whole childhoods were basically the same
