This video is confusing penetrating stains vs. film-forming stains. It is the film-forming products that peel off and look terrible. Both water and oil-based stains can be penetrating or film forming. It depends on the technology and formulation of the specific product.

Anyway you got the point, oil will last longer.

I understood that you marked 2.5 inches up for your bottom rail (to follow the terrain), and then you said to mark 67.5 inches up from that for your top rail. I then saw you use your level. Are you then ignoring the 67.5 mark you made and just making it level instead on the subsequent top rails (after establishing the first section). Also, is your middle rail marked so the top of the 2x4 hits the mark, or the bottom of the 2x4 hitting the mark/measurement. Great video by the way. I appreciate you. 🙏🏾

So idk man, ive been a professional painter for close to 15 years...wash the flippin soffits that doesnt make sense to not wash... Hack move... i always use a bonding primer(extreme bonding primer) just do a light "piss" coat over all the vinyl before spraying finish BECAUSE its not about warping... i havent ever dealt with that... its bubbling a year or 2 or 3 later... Adhesion problems... And if your going to be a painter, look professional...wear white... you look like the typical hack handyman painter... "Oh im using Super Paint" Its not that great of a product man
@faithprice858416 күн бұрын
What brand extreme primer do you use?
@TheHandyNeighbor16 күн бұрын
You don’t need any primer. Don’t listen to this guy. This is exterior paint and it will bond for vinyl and anything very well. Just wash it well and use exterior paint. Super paint from Sherwin Williams is good paint but you can go with any brand you want. More money-better product.
@nothingsimpostleble159316 күн бұрын
@faithprice8584 its called "Extreme Bonding primer" by Sherwin Williams. I always do a light mist coat across the whole house. That's what my paint rep told me to do, doesn't matter if you use Super Paint, Duration, or Emerald... I'm telling you this from my own personal experience. YT has brought out all these hacks on YT trying to give up what they think are trade secrets.. I'm also a licensed paint contractor that has been in business for almost 5 years. I bet this dude in the video isn't even licensed.. The bubbling is a real thing, it's not going to happen ALL OVER but it some places and this guy will get a call back. Plus think about it, what's the hurt in spending an hundred bucks on a couple of gallons of primer to ensure you won't have issues later?
