How is the audio quality of this option coupled to a CDR31 without Bose? As a new owner i am appalled at the crappy sound quality of the FM, however when playing a CD it is ok; when playing from my iphone via stereo Aux port it is also pretty crappy. Surprised that Porsche put in such a sub standard entertainment unit. Was looking to put in a PCM (some for sale on Ebay) but I think that will pose lots of challenges as it is not as simple as plug and play as the ports are different

This video inspired me to change my inlays on my recently purchased 2018 Targa 4 GTS, from OEM BLack to Chalk the color of my interior. It was daunting, but with your video it turned out great, I love it! Thanks. Keep the videos coming…😅

I have a 981 Boxster, and like what you have shown and sell. My question is routing the cable from the backup cam, is that as seemless as in the 991? Obviously I don't have a backseat and have a convertible top in the way, have you done a Boxster (Cayman would be a piece of cake). I understand how the rear camera works ie when you select reverse, however if I decided to select a 2 camera option having a front camera how does that work ie when does it come on and when does it shut off. Obviously I only want it for parking maneuvers
@AutoAmateur17 сағат бұрын
Hey there! Yes, there are a couple of ways to run the cable into the cabin in a Boxster or Cayman. I can help you virtually when you do the job, no worries.
@AutoAmateur17 сағат бұрын
The front camera gets triggered only when you come out of the reverse shifter position. It automatically comes on for 10 seconds and then shuts off again. It's all automated by the JoyeAuto box.

Great idea for a series and I’ll be watching, as trying to work out what to do with my 992 GTS, as really don’t think that much of the sound compared to the 991.1 that I had before it. I was thinking Akrapovic as they are big in the UK, but Soul seems to be the go to in the US.

I can't believe how restrictive those factory headers look. Ugly too as you say. They would be the first thing to go in the trash at my place.

Question, did you choose to get new fan, harness and hardware out of necessity or because it wasn’t possible to reuse them from the OEM decklid?
@AutoAmateur12 күн бұрын
I got them because I wasn't sure if I could reuse any of the factory hardware. Turned out I could replace almost all of the hardware, so I ended up returning most of what I sourced.

After the cost of the exhaust itself, it was around $1600 for the labor, button / module, running the vacuum lines and programming the car.

They match the car well. Wonder if they will accept the factory Porsche colored crest centercaps. If so, you could have them painted with a matching grey and I think it would look terrific.
@johnbrandenberger617411 күн бұрын
The wheels themselves wont accept Oem center caps but " unofficially" customers can reach out and Soul will provide an oem center crest that fits the aftermarket wheel. Unfortunately unable to be advertised but no extra cost.

Tuning def gives you a huge increase in hp and torque, but keep in mind if you tend to keep your cars a long time, engine parts will fail earlier. I put a Stage 1 APR tune on my daily driver Audi A4 bought new, and after the tune (58K miles later), the turbo failed ($5K replacement at dealership). The tune apparently increases boost pressure two times in order to give that extra power so it will fail earlier. I still find the tune was worth it cause of the gains in power and fun factor but keep in mind it will necessitate early replacement of parts.
@AutoAmateur23 күн бұрын
Yes great point to make. From the research I’ve done it seems to be mostly anecdotal but I think the logic is sound. I plan on upgrading various components right now like diverter valves, intake pipes, etc. But if a turbo blows up, you’re right, not a lot you do about that besides cough up several grand to replace it.
@carreralicious23 күн бұрын
@ Yes, I think it’s inevitable after prolonged use, and remember, the 911 has not one but two turbos, so double the replacement price. 😁 Still worth the fun I think.

What a coincidence, I went to test drive a 991.2 Carerra base PDK too, also Graphite Blue Metallic. Wanted to upgrade from my 987.1 S manual. It’s a big jump in performance and price. Salesman took me through backroads @ 140kms. He’s very experienced race driver. I was sold on 991.2 base and he said there’s not much difference in S, GTS. So save your money and learn how to race your car. Pedal to the metal, fast as you can. If I do end up getting it, the yellow calibres look great on Graphite Blue Metallic.
