I just got to test drive and work on a brand new Porsche 992 GTS which absolutely blew me away, beyond expectations. Power, refinements, the extra special S within Carrera line up is an absolute beast.

Actually the GTS is the top of the line in the Carrera series of which the GT series is not a part of.

More so than ever though, the 992 GT3 feels like the perfect bridge between the Carrera and the true GT cars. Hands down, the best 911 GTS produced to date. They've finally nailed it.

Next time you borrow his car, put it in Sport+ for launch control. If you thought the Sport setting was hard hitting and fast at 4k rpm. The Sport+ setting launches at 5k rpm and hits even harder!!! It's what I do in my 992 C2S. Makes a Big difference. As usual, great video!!!

Great video. I was supposed to get this same 992 GTS but the dealer screwed up my upgrades and options so now I’m ending up in 991.2 Turbo S which extremely fast and I’m not complaining. Still love that GTS, beautiful car

Great summary, thx. Doing some research for a friend interested in a S or GTS, no chance of an allocation on a GT3. GTS offers a really good bang for ya buck, IMO, and 4 seats. Nice upload, thx. PS, gosh Porsches are SO cheap in USA.

@@mikew9113 yeah, sorry to say, the whole range is cheaper in the US. The 2GTS just cost US$299600! Ouch. My 3 cost $310k! Enjoy the ride though, awesome.

@@AutoAmateur Here in Germany it's a no go option, but i like it. People order mostly that alcantara crap interior, which for me is a total no. Full leather, rear wiper and I would have ordered mudflaps as well, but not available here. ☝🏼😆

Did you not have a PDK in your 991.1? Did you never use launch control in it?

I did, but there was just such a difference in power and feel. The 991.1 launch control experience was dull and felt like it occurred in slow-motion compared to the 991 GTS. Haha.

On KZbin, I have Seen Many Many porsches ... and this is the 1st one that has a 'REAR Wiper' ... Why do the newer ones NOT Have a rear wiper ... WHY ?

Personally, I'm not a fan of the rear wipers. They ruin the lines of the car, it's purely an aesthetic thing for me and many others. Functionally, I can see the value if I were tracking the car and quickly needed to clean the rear view or daily driving the car.

My opinion is that when they brought the GTS back (for whatever reason is debated) in the 997.2 it was the only time they got it right. All were proper revving normally aspirated outputs - The 997.1 / .2 GT3’s are only 6 and 15 more normally aspirated HP difference from the 997 GTS. So you truly were buying the street version (GTS) of the race version (GT3). It was the Touring Street Spec. And you could tour in a convertible spec if you so chose. But now every line has a GTS and the gap and intent is so different from the GT3 that Porsche had to add a GT3 “touring” (not to be confused with Grand Touring Spec) incl proper 6 speed just to wring out the last dollars from buyers that still want the drivers Porsche. Cause the wealthy that wanted a 911 Turbo engine - would have bought one… It’s Porsche contorting themselves to meet the EU enviro guidelines but the inadvertent consequence is that Porsche as a drivers car are fast becoming just the Ferrari toy for the flashy wealth soaked that won’t even drive those number regulated “sport classics” or equally number regulated (but not number badged) GT3s. Each GT3 allocation to the Porsche allocation elites should require a Taycan purchase allowing Porsche to once again make the proper GTS - with perhaps just a 3.8L detuned GT3 engine like they were meant to be… 😊

There are hundreds of very low mileage 992 GT3’s that anyone can buy. Not at all difficult to get one.

@@bentleygucci - lol… what? Do you mean if you are willing to pay double the original MSRP. A low mile 997 GT3 car is 250K 😂😂 That IS MORE money than the new 992 GT3 lIst. Which now also sells used for 80k over its original list. Of course there are lots for sale. That’s my point. The sellers had special original allocation, drove it for 2 years and expect to make 80 or 100k selling it…

I see, TINTED Front side windows ... What state is this car living in .. ? (If those front side-window AREN'T Tinted ... the car looks like shot ... as in Shit) And a REAR WIPER ... Hooray ... I was shocked to see later model 911's without a rear-wiper ... SHOCKED !

I think the windows are all standard factory tinted.
