Hi peteminers236, we were there during the dry season so maybe it was not as lush as when you were there. It's still lovely though, isn't it?

@MaDdestinations maybe. I was there in May, and I dont have photos; well no it's either snow has receded, or vegetations died or both, so all I can think of is climate damage which isn't nice!

I was there in November and the road is not suitable to hike on. It’s a road construction site. The three towns can be seen in a jeep in one day.

One bird misidentification in this nice video that does a good job of showing what it is like to visit Selva Verde Lodge. I have stayed there 5 times, most recently two weeks ago for 4 nights, I did want to bring your attention to what I believe is a misidentification you may wish to correct. At 6:36 in the video you show closeup of a reddish bird which you identify as an immature Crimson-collared Tanager. But that species does look like that. What you have us a photo of a Red-throated Ant-Tanager male (Habia fuscicauda) which is a common at the feeding station at the Lodge, sometimes quite shy, one time walking right into the dining room. Good luck with your project to inform the public about the natural wonders of Costa Rica.

Well spotted, I am sure you are correct, after looking a other images of the Red-throated Ant-Tanager , all new birds to us as we live in Australia🙃 . We are hoping to get back to that part of the world at some stage,

You are staying in Suter Place, for sure. I'm local living in west part of the city and I recognized the building by the frames you put from the window and by the gorgeous chandelier. I recommend you to visit Drumul Taberei park located in the western part of the city, in a quiet and green area, subway with the same name, Drumul Taberei Park. It is pleasant and fantastic to see the other areas of the city, not only the central area, which for me as a local is not so attractive, it requires more development and renovation.

Crater Lakes National Park (where Lake Eacham and Lake Barrine is) is easily my most favourite place in the whole world because of just how much wildlife there is to see during both day and night. I had the luck of seeing a Boyd’s Forest Dragon, Spotted Catbird, and Musky Rat Kangaroo in just less than an hour as soon as I was there. If they’re some of the many animals you hope to see in North Queensland, then Crater Lakes National Park is the absolute best place to see them

AS you said all looking very dry. Sad really. Brasilia seems such an odd proposition however Australia pulled off a similar thing with Canberra. A tad more successfully. Brasilia erupted in riots and storming of the Senate not long after you visited. Patriotism gone bonkers after the elections. You look very glamourous Diane as you head off for dinner.
