Nice video Editor in chief. Upside down splitter is a nice part of your arsenal that doesn’t get used much but so handy to deal with those big, heavy rounds. Bet those carpenter ants got excited when the lightning hit.

If you could split them big rounds on the sliter table, you would not have to handle them again.
@fricknjeep5 сағат бұрын
hi there well when i was younger i could handle them ,but now days i just can't ,so i make then a bit lighter and smaller , thanks for stopping in john
@clydefuoss16565 сағат бұрын
@fricknjeep I meant that once you have them in the big round spliter contraption. You should be able to split them on the table with the big contraption. Save your back a little bit.
@fricknjeep3 сағат бұрын
@@clydefuoss1656 hi there i miss understood what you meant. it would take so much more time , i will try to adress it in todays video . on the big splitter we do that but the table is 4x8 with raised sides ans hydraulic tipping , have you seen that one / john
@clydefuoss16563 сағат бұрын
@fricknjeep just seems like it would save time. You are already picking them up with the shidloader spliter. Just split them on the regular spliter table, and you won't have to lift them.

GREAT SHOW, MR. CLARK I LOVE LOCUST WOOD, BEST HEAT NEXT TO BURNING COAL. LIKE YOU IT COMES WITH UNWANTED NEIGHBORS. DON'T LIKE ANTS IN THE PANTS. AS A CHILD, WE HEATED OUR HOUSE WITH AN ENORMOUS COAL FURNACE, IN EARLY 80'S WHEN ALL COAL MINES WERE ON STRIKE, WE HEATED WITH WOOD, MAINLY LOCUST. IN OUR LIVING ROOM THERE WER CANDLE STICKS MOUNTED ON WALL WITH A CLOCK IN THE MIDDLE, COME SPRING THE CANDLE'S HAD GOTTEN SOFT ENOUGH THAT THEY WER PIONTING TO THE FLOOR. If you cut your firewood to 18 inches, that box holds just under 1/2 cord of wood
@fricknjeep6 сағат бұрын
hi there i do + or _ an inch and some dont cut square as well , what you may have missed is it is filled over the top and most extend past the front , this is because there is a row stacked between the front and back rows of stacked wood , it really turns out to be a bit over a 1/2 cord , thanks for dropping in john
@clydefuoss165622 сағат бұрын
20 or 25 minutes is long enough You didn't give the 3rd mesument. I guessed about 3 feet. Came up with 60 cubic feet. It's just a little shy of half a cord. But you stack it up over the 4 foot top board so probably a little over half a cord.

Good video John. If all you had was the Lickity Splitter, I am sure you would be able to make it adapt to your system (elevated platform, table, etc.). Honey Locust in the Midwest has more of a scaly bark but grows really fast, dense and burns hot and long. Great heating wood.

0.55 of a cord. Or just a hair over a 1/2 a cord. I timed how long it took to split that last piece. I watch channel that use 4 and 6 way wedges. I’ll try and do a comparison. Great system you have there. Could you show how the throttle on the lickity split engine works.
@fricknjeepКүн бұрын
hi there i built the boxes to hold a strong 1/2 cord . the splitter if fast but the organization around is really the key to speed , some thing to look for multi splits go every where , and more trash clean up .less constant wood size ,look where the handles are . look at splitter access ,to much stuff in the way , i could go on . thanks for dropping in .john
