2024 word was action, which was pretty spot on. I’d been introspecting for too long before that so I’m really glad I did that. I feel like 2025 needs to add some focus to that action …. But that 2025 should start in feb! I’ve been pretty emotional the last week or so and that has taken me by surprise. I am also being very hard on myself. I have my next book to launch 30th Jan, and my focus is on releasing it rather than promoting it. And yes, I’m still working on it!
@anjakersten5 күн бұрын
Joanne, I love the idea of releasing your book and what an accomplishment! Yay! I started with focusing on self compassion last year, because I didn't like anymore being so hard on myself. There's still a way to go, but my self talk is changing. Personally I think spring is a good time to add more focus. Best of luck for the book release!

Ive just listened to Ren's song Do You Believe, with the sample from Melanie Safka' song of that name. It's from 1972, when artists did put emotuon and rawness into their music and other creations. I feel many of today's young people are captured by the false image of 'perfection ' presented by so many of their favourite artists. Im so happy that artists like Ren and Chinchilla, as well as a whole host of artists recommended by Ren, are coming more into the public eye.
@anjakersten28 күн бұрын
I totally agree with you, it's so good to see people like Chinchilla, Ren and all the other artists coming more into the public eye. We need this, we need more emotion and rawness, it's what art is all about. In my opinion of course.

So love to hear the input of others from all over the world and different walks of life … it is amazing how similar we really all are… I write poetry as my art form and try to create stories… I have been told by family members all my life what I should or should not write about.. In engineering, there is a right way to do things or folks get hurt. In art...only the artist creates the right way. Otherwise, it is simply a perfect production of someone else's idea. Art is a "make them see you, or through you" thing. It was so nice to hear you stress about how much it must be "right" for the person. :o) e.g. I don't dance as an art expression. It would be...unpleasant for everyone. Ha!
