This is the time for us animal lovers to speak out about the relationship of humans and our furry neihbors, how we need to redefine our relationship and the donkeyhats that lift their noses and demand their perfect lawns which waste way more resources then those of us who keep it fair. look to balance with them.. i'm reved up and sure you will be too. #Peanut

I became aware of this last night. I'm furious, too! It's so extreme and over the top to invade someone's home to take their animals. How about a court order to demand a veterinarian administer a rabies vaccination first? Even that is extreme, but at least these animals get to live. I watched HBO's Chimp Crazy and it forced me to reevaluate what is or isn't appropriate with certain species. In the case of a social primate, sometimes intervention is necessary, I think. Where's the line drawn for other animals? I'm not sure, but a squirrel??? Seriously? Poor Fred, too. Sickening! It reopened wounds learning this last night.

I know you don't want to hear this, but I'm dressed as a hunter and I'm in my tree stand right now. This is my 5th time and I've seen deer in shooting range every night. I enjoy watch them but tonight if it's brown it's down. Probably my last time to bow hunt because of time change. Good to see your babies again. Have you visited them lately? Oh my gosh, if we had raccoons where I live I'd probably invite them to live in the house. They're just precious and they want to interact with humans.

They are incredibly polite and gentle animals. I formed amazing friendships with many of them. Happy Halloween

They see a hooman and expect hooman snacks. Wild animals really appreciate the high fat, high sugar, high energy snacks, although it's not that good for them. But getting calories in the wild is hard work. They might enjoy those high fat snacks for winter birds made from seeds and tallow. Those are more natural but still very high in energy, which is what they like.

Hi Angelique. We a doing ok. The house seems quiet without our mom or raccoon visitors. The year has been difficult and we are looking forward to bringing in the New Year for a fresh start. I hope you are well and adjusting to your new home.

Since you asked about special experiences with trees, my wife and I had a very memorable one last year. So, last Autumn our nextdoor neighbours up the hill started cutting down the trees that were growing at the very end of his property, which had been providing us privacy and shade for a long time. My wife is an herbalist and a huge plant-lover, so she went to tell one of the remaining trees that was left on the neighbours yard that it might get cut down soon, and thanked it for everything it has provided us with. A few weeks later we got hit by ice storms that wreaked serious havoc on our neighbourhood. My wife and I woke up to the creaking sound of a tree falling - for a few seconds we weren't sure which way it was falling, but after we heard the impact from the other side of the yeard, we were relieved. We investigated through our window, and lo' and beold, the very tree my wife had thanked just a few weeks earlier had fallen and crashed through our neighbours roof. It was one of the only trees on his yard that he hadn't cut down. By all logic the tree should have fallen on our house, as we live downhill from it. We'd like to think that the tree had heard my wife's words. (Our neighbours were unharmed and it seems they have got all the damage repaired by now.)
