Not a review, it's my impression of the game.

What are you on about? I only stated what I wanted from League personally. It doesn't matter much to me if they don't plan on doing anything like that. I already don't play the game lol. I was just surprised after all these years that Riot hasn't made a sequel that's all.

Riot has Propriotary Engine so I don't think so. SMITE2 only came out because they need to spend so long to convert from UE3 to UE5

The graphics are nice, but what was really needed was the codebase upgrade. Should be much easier to develop on a new engine as apposed to teaching people how to use an old one on the job. Will hopefully lead to cooler more innovative abilities/kits.

I mean making a LoL 2 doesn't mean they have to shut down the first game. They should continue to develop it while also making a new game. Or modernize the current game while also keeping the original alive and continue development for it. They have the resources to do so.

@@HonestPug for the style of game that it is i think its doing pretty well for how old it is. they can do what overwatch did but instead of releasing it as a new game for no reason just overhaul the current game like you suggested. but i think its a matter of "if its not broke dont fix it" type of deal. i mean it still pulls 100+ million players a month so i can kinda see why they don't bother.

Yeah that's pretty much their read on the situation. My argument is that I don't play League because of it's controls and camera angle BUT if they modernize the game to have WASD controls and a conventional 3rd person camera angle I would definitely play the game. And I'm pretty sure there's others who feel the same way I do. However, if they do decide to make a sequel and make a new game from the beginning, I feel like a lot people who would never consider to even try LoL would give it a try.

@@HonestPug i think changing the game that much would just call for a different game entirely. league is league because of the camera angle and movement. just like dota. changing such an essential mechanic would be detrimental to how the game is played overall. i do agree tho that the way smite is played draws a more casual player base because the movement is simplified. having to click around is def from a bygone era.

In general I think a LoL 2 would be insane. The game has been popular for 15 years, so I can only imagine that a sequel or a modernized version would last just as long if executed properly.

@@HonestPug yeah especially considering that wild rift looks that much better than the pc version(tho i think thats because of the art direction) but i dont think riot is that dumb that they look at how successful cs2 was for bringing new players and not immediately start developing lol
