While you were on Skinner gate you should have gone to see the old Quaker grave yard. It has alot of graves of the Pease family. I'm not sure if it is still open to the public? but next time give it a try.

"Nothing exotic in Darlington covered market" he says while wandering past bananas, oranges and pineapples. Well known British fruits one and all :P
@JasonSmartTravel
@JasonSmartTravel Күн бұрын
But that’s like saying doors are exotic because they were invented in Egypt or carpets are exotic because they originated from somewhere in the Middle East. Bananas and oranges are so normal and commonplace in British life that no one would consider them ‘exotic’ unless that person really was being pedantic or they had not visited a European supermarket since 1948. Now, if I’d seen some papaya or dragon fruit, then I think you would have a case. Anyway, thanks for watching.

If you are looking to get attacked in a pub on a Friday night. Want to live next to Nuclear reactors. Don't want a job. Are an inveterate racist. Despise everyone who isn't a little Englander and want to find some far right nationalists to go drinking with and to the 'footy' for a fight Harlepool is YOUR kind of town. And no amount of wishful thinking from the people commenting below is going to eradicate the stain of your xenophobic right wing racist culture - just find a Hartlepool brexit vox pop and see Hartlepool in its true colours.

As a town its not too bad. As a community? a bit too woke for my liking. You can easily tell who the main employer here is. Lots of blue rinse going on. A lot of inbreeding here. A lot of people who have never left this corner of the UK, let alone ventured further afield outside of europe.

A good comparison of Katowice to Manchester. Secondly, Katowice is a very comfortable city to live in. You should visit the mining district of Katowice called Nikiszowiec and the Silesian Park. Bigger than Hyde Park.

Thanks for the video. I'm not sure I get your criticism though. I live in Norwich. There's parts of deprivation here with people sat drinking and people on mobility scooters and rubbish and boarded up shops just like every other city. What you showed looked clean and decent. Just ordinary people.

I think it was the change from how I remembered Stockton as a child and teenager. Plus, compared to some of the other towns I’ve recently visited in that area (a video from Darlington is coming next) it was the worst of the bunch.

While you're 'home' in the UK, I'll suggest some other northern places to visit, one being worse than Stockton for sure - Mansfield: former mining town, centre very neglected yet big. Seems similar to Stockton but worse. - Chesterfield: just half an hour from Mansfield and it's gorgeous. Famous crooked spire, cobbled streets, had one of the oldest pubs in it but think it closed down. You're close to Chatsworth House and the Peak District too, which is great. - Nottingham: less than an hour south of Mansfield, really young city. More pubs per 1000 people than any other city in Europe I believe. Oldest Inn in the country (Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem), a bar with a canal going through it (The Canalhouse) and The Malt Cross (formerly a music hall, the oldest Victorian music hall still with the original features outside of London). They have caves underneath which link up to a load of other pubs - you can't go to the pubs through them but they historically link up). After that, head to Hockley, where all the shops and bars are individual and non-chain. I think you'll find it one of the best cities in the UK. Great vids and all the best

Hello Jason, nice video thanks, nice to see Boro, I have a similar story left when I was 18/19 and bought shoes from Clarkcards, (actually a Mboro company) I hung around the shops Martin shops as a kid, it’s a travesty what the council has allowed to happen to the town, only valet shops and take aways. Definitely in decline. Thanks D

Cities with a market 'RYNEK' were located under the so-called Magdabur law. They were a set of town privileges first developed by Otto I, Holy Roman Emperor (936-973) and based on the Flemish Law which regulated the degree of internal autonomy within cities and villages granted by the local ruler. Named after the German city of Magdeburg, these town charters were perhaps the most important set of medieval laws in Central Europe. The Magdeburg rights were adopted and adapted by numerous monarchs, including the rulers of Bohemia, Hungary, Poland and Lithuania, a milestone in the urbanization of the region which prompted the development of thousands of villages and cities. As you see, Poland was and always will be in central Europe.
