If you don’t play it like a survival game, the game is plain. If you take the survival elements into the open world space exploration, the game then becomes insanely fun. Skyrim maybe feels like a real world to many players but not necessarily to everyone

I d said this once. I'll say it again. First off understand there are 2 main types of players. Story liners and Explorers/adventurers. Now everybody complained about the story lines of Bethesda (Streamers mainly). So Bethesda focus probably 90% of their time making stories and side stories. The other 10% was ship building and settlement building. The adventurers/explorers got left out. In Skyrim you could go in a cave and get lost in it. Starfield 5 min caves copied and pasted. Fallout 4 you could build as many turrets as you wanted. Starfield like 6. They left out any adventure or exploration. No hand crafted caves. They said Starfield would be better than fallout 4 and Skyrim. You'll be able to play it 10 plus years. Only problem was they didn't put enough hand crafted content for exploration and adventure to last 10 years. Look I am an explorer/adventurer player. Just like most of their fanbase. Skyrim and fallout 4 had story and exploration. Starfield just story. And people will play the main quest. Side quest and be done with the game. Because that's basically all it is. I have put in a review to Bethesda about this. So hopefully elder Scrolls 6 will be more balanced.

Good review. I think in relation to the two points you mentioned about the Sith on Peragus and HKs at the hidden base there were some quick lines to cover those discrepancies. I seem to remember a few video logs on the Harbinger noting they all thought they were being watched and I think the HK's on Telos claimed they had units in the area.

I played this game on the Switch, so there was no extra stuff available. I did not come across that horribly voice acted jedi padawan, I wonder if she was cut content. Or maybe you have to play as a girl, I always go male. It's a great game, wish they coulda given it a little more polish.

brother I literally watched this without realizing it was one of your videos, nice work. The editing quality, voicing, the structure of your videos are only improving. Honestly I wish Bethesda would just...make good games again. Skyrim, oblivion, Fallout 3, they did good jobs with. I'm honestly afraid they're gonna spend six years on TES6 just for it to end up like Starfield. They set up so much with Skyrim, it would be a shame to watch them fuck it up. I hope they'll learn from starfield, but they probably won't. We'll see.

I think they could make a banger if they took the best *vanilla* plus mod ideas and jammed them in TES6. However, if they made another souls-like or lock-on-based game I would be very disappointed.

Starfield is not a bad game: it's a bad Bethesda game. I still managed to finish Starfield and have fun doing so, something I couldn't do with many other non-Bethesda games. It does feel like a downgrade in many aspects, though.

Thank you so much! I've be thinking about this for mouths now, watched hours of reviews and critiques that take went into huge depths on what is wrong with Starfield but always seems to fall short. You are 100% right... I don't mind the janky combat, storytelling and lackluster RPG elements, in fact I love and expect these thing from BGS. After 100 Hours of play time I was left filling I couldn't find one interesting world building thing. Like the Lore in this game/world was sucked dry by an over eager vampire or a unexperienced street worker.

skyrim was a buggy mess, but it had character, i bought the elder scrolls series because even the bugs were FUCKING AMAZING the giant glitch sending you into the stratosphere was a perfect example of this because it was patched and then UNPATCHED, because it was beloved

Growing up is realizing Bethesda isn't the same company they used to be, and Starfield is as empty as it is because it was intentional, so they could fill the void with Micro-transactions to nickle and dime anyone left that is gullible and dumb enough to support them as a company. You don’t just explain whats wrong with Starfield by using one of the greatest games ever made to prove your point. You’re also explaining what made Skyrim the top tier game that it is. People argue to this day how bad Skyrim is and why they think the hype around it is overrated. You explained why Skyrims fans love it so. Its not the mods, its not the story, its not the combat, and its not the RPG element. All these make the game fun but they are not the reason the game is a masterpiece. You issue with the HK-50 units is explained in game my friend! They’re on every planet because they have infiltrated every inch of republic space. Everywhere held by the republic, they’re there! There’s a seemingly never ending number of them and they will never stop hunting their target, which just happens to be Meetra Surik until HK-47 reprograms them in the cut content.

This is less of a thorough analysis and just a condensed playthrough with commentary. Although I found entertainment with this video and can see you worked hard on the editing, some pretty funny scenes you showed us!

The HK50's in the release version of the game only had a few encounters. i think like 4 total. The restored mod added all of them. Also the child jedi on Dantooine was added in the mod. She wasn't in the release version either.

You can't make a video and say "this is why Starfield sucks" yes you'd have valid points and yes the majority of people might agree for example yes the world of skyrim vs the empty worlds of starfield is a massive failure. The fact is Starfield sucks for everyone for different reasons. I agree that the world's they built are empty and uninspired. The higher ups clearly thought "we are Bethesda and we can make whatever we want and the gamers will like it or we will force them to like it!" Nope not how it works. They didn't let the passionate devs, the true nerds (which I say nerds in a good way I love nerds) run with their ideas and add to the story. Also the game massively tries to convince you that your choices matter in the game, nope not one bit. For me my first massive disappointment was looting. In Skyrim if you see someone with some awesome armor you can take them out and now that armor is yours. Starfield you have to hope they drop that armor which most of the time they won't. I mean wtf? Todd said "we want to say yes as much as we can!" Well Todd can I be a pirate and take a Cait like companion around being a bad person? Nope! By Cait like I mean doesn't get all bent out of shape when we break some rules. Spacers are a bad group of people doing bad things but yet when I take any companion onto a spacers ship and clear it to capture the ship every companion will get mad at you and will even abandon you. "Yeah they we trying to kill us and it's ok to vaporize them in their ship but if you board it to earn some money by taking the ship I'm going to be super mad! You can join a pirate faction but if you do pirate stuff other than their missions we're through!" You show up at their constellation HQ and they legit tell you "we don't worry about what you do good or bad as long as you work with us for our goal" ok then you don't mind if I steal this ship aaaaaaand they chewed me out and refuse to be my companion any more....oh and on stealing ships there are so many that have you hard locked out of them. The game forced me to leave companions behind if I want to steal ships but I was going to do it on my own then. See a ship land on a planet way off in the distance and run super far (because land vehicles are way too advance for a future space traveling society) finally get to the ship and you're hard locked out. There is no "need higher lockpicking skill" on many of them you're just locked out and several that you could get into you couldn't pilot. Not because "your piloting skill isn't high enough!" But "you don't have permission to use this!" Yeah I know I don't have permission that's the point of stealing a ship! Also if you've seen 10 POIs you've seen them all literally there's probably about 10 they copy and paste on planets that have different colors or a few different style rocks i had their loot locations memorised in a few days of playing the game....cool.... same with weapons and armor. Maybe 15 different weapons and less than that for different armors? Want to mix and match your armors? Well that's too bad unless you enjoy rocking an orange jumpsuit with a brown helmet. Like just add color change to that and it would atleast feel like you had options. Sorry Todd ill never trust a Bethesda product again. When ES6 comes out if it ever does ima need a massive, MASSIVE ammount of positive reviews and will be watching review videos before I spend a cent on it. But even if it's good it will be a micro transaction mess anyways.
