I can't remember any kids in my school ever getting a Blue Peter badge.maybe it's because we weren't ho so slightly upper class.i bet the kids that had parents that worked for aunty beeb all had their badges❤.

Well they repeated the episode last night as a tribute to Steve Wright, and all they did was announce "at No.22 a new entry from Gary Glitter" but then just continued with the rest of the chart rundown, skipping that song thankfully. Also "Nellie The Elephant" by Toy Dolls was skipped, not sure why though.

The static ident has nothing to do with Christmas, and the face in the moon is rather evil looking. I remember the wizard and the music. That was quite good, but again, not really Christmassy.

I was 6. I can remember watching, and xmas 84 is a fondly remembered one for me. I can recall Michael Sundin too. But watching now I see he was a bit flat in his delivery and came across as a bit awkward

And here’s another one of my favourite ever BBC closedowns from the 90s. I love how the television announcer and the radio host just chat for a bit before the channel closes, which also works as a radio advertisement oddly enough. I don’t know why, but I find this quite interesting and satisfying, and I wish these linkups happened more often when the channel closed down at night back in the day.
