I can't remember any kids in my school ever getting a Blue Peter badge.maybe it's because we weren't ho so slightly upper class.i bet the kids that had parents that worked for aunty beeb all had their badges❤.

Although Biddy Baxter would argue that his contract was not renewed as he was not popular with the viewers. Actually I don't think he is too bad here.

They should have tasked him with a few of the 'makes' to try to loosen him up a bit as they were probably the segments of the show feared the worst by presenters. If everything went wrong doing that, then at least it would be out of the way and he may have improved further. But I doubt they really tried to think 'outside the box', sadly.

Was Michael Sundin axed just because of his sexuality and Biddy Baxter and the rest of the BBC wouldn't admit the truth? I was 5 at the end of 1984 and I don't remember Michael Sundin at all, I never even remember Peter Duncan leaving and coming back, he always just seemed to be there.

Biddy Baxter said something about him being axed because 'children didn't like him' and that he wasn't axed because of his 'sexual proclivities', however the latter is almost certainly the real reason regardless of what reason she gave. I was eight at that time and remember him; I admit that I was one of those children who didn't warm to him, mainly because I was influenced by my older brother who laughed at him, but kids are cruel and have a simplistic view of the world. As an adult I see things differently of course.

I was 6. I can remember watching, and xmas 84 is a fondly remembered one for me. I can recall Michael Sundin too. But watching now I see he was a bit flat in his delivery and came across as a bit awkward
