Top it off by trading away the generational talent you mortgaged the farm for less than 2 years later and give a 10 year extension to the aging 3B so he can fade into oblivion alongside the aging 2B you also overpaid for as the prime years of your young superstar OFs are wasted.

Cease had two CONSECUTIVE bad starts against LA, when we REALLY needed him to NOT have bad outings against LA. It shocked me how tense and 'off' he looked in those starts. But when the season was done and we were out, I calmed down and still thought he should be brought back. My thought process then, was focused on how we are going to need arms, more arms and arms on top of arms, to keep up with LA next season, in light of LA having a handful of really solid guys coming off the IL in '25. I still think we need Cease...but not enough that we keep him and cant fill holes elsewhere. My belief is, Preller can find a close enough comparison to Cease, somewhere on another team, who is going to ben controllable and cheap. Id also being back Perez..who has said several times, he wants to come back.

The agent was talking like a man that is currently under investigation because all 30 GM’s believe that he has a secret deal with the Dodgers already in place. Look at the Dodgers international signings for the last 10 years. They always land a top 10 international free agent. They always spend big. But this time they’re the one team that hasn’t agreed to terms with any of the top 50. Padres have with #21 #38 and #39. Mets with #2, Mariners with #7 and the Yankees #10. They all have terms agreed to with their best talent from their academies. While the Dodgers are telling their top talent to sign elsewhere because they won’t have money. So either the Dodgers are the worst run organization and all the baseball because they don’t realize they can terminate the contract if they get Roki, or they have a deal in place with Rocky already and don’t want to have kids in their academy miss out on signing a big contract with a different team.
