when i listened to EATEOT i couldnt get past the hell sirens. it made me so nervous and anxious that i couldnt continue listening, and to this day even hearing anything from stage 4 makes me incredibly anxious. i think its done very well to elicit a response like that. maybe one day i'll build up the courage to finish the album

I feel like the album also takes place as grief. For me those emotions are more present around these stages And it’s different throughout the stages not in the same state STAGE 1 - Testing STAGE 2 - Denial/Bargaining STAGE 3 - Acceptance/Depression STAGE 4 - Shock/Depression/Bargaining/Acceptance STAGE 5 - Shock/Anger/Testing/Depression STAGE 6 - Testing/Acceptance

Fun Fact: dementia has 7 stages, not 6! which means that stage 5 would be more like stage 4 and stage 6 would be more like stage 5

The large 3 funnel steam ship seen throughout the video is called laviathan and was built by the germans and sold to the Americans.

I work in housekeeping in an assisted living facility and coming across eateot was not good for my mental health for a while 😅. Even without the dementia seeing residents deteriorated is difficult to see. There’s been residents who absolutely refused to use a wheelchair because to them if they did “that’s it, I’m done for” and when you eventually see them in a wheelchair because they fell or because of their health it’s so heartbreaking because they tried to hold on to the little independence they had and it gets taken from them. Then you day you get to work, park your cart in front of their room to clean it and walk in into an empty room.

Dementia is such a scary disease, and I wish I never have to experience it. This video was so well made, it gave me chills from thinking about it all, and the outro really added to the effect.

Amazing video! Especially with the ending I agree a lot; people literally become reintegrated. One thing I see differently though are the blue borders of the canvas: for me they don't represent dementia, but our ego perspective. One love <3

I would like to say that I probably can't listen to Everywhere at the End of Time because of how terrifyingly sad it is so thanks for listening to it for me and other people.

Is it just me or stage 4 cover art looks way more cohesive than 3? Like i can see what its supposed to be very clearly. It reminds of the girl with a pearl earring but there isnt an earring because you dont remember why she should have an earring. I dunno, maybe its supposed to be in a different perspective but thats how i see it

I have a chronic condition called POTS, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, and it causes me daily brain fog. Sometimes it’s minor sometimes it’s severe, depending on if I’m flaring. This is currently very frustrating sure, but it isn’t something I have to concern myself about right now as I’m only 22. What scares me is when I reach the age of a senior citizen, and if I won’t know if what I’m experiencing is my usual brain fog or dementia.

For those who are wondering why there are six stages instead of seven is because the first stage of dementia is symptom free, so Stage One of EATEOT is Stage 2, Stage 2 is Stage 3 and so on forward.

To have a leitmotif, you need the theme used for it portrai a very specific concept like a character or a feeling and when the theme is used it's meant to show that this concept has come up to stage. The other thing you need to have a leitmotif is a certain flexibility of the usage of the themes. Like for them to be completely differatiable from one repeating to another. The returning melodies from everywhere at the end of time are flexible from repeat to repeat but they don't portrai on their own as themes any specific concept, so they cannot be considered leitmotifs. They're just melodies repeating again differently, meaning to show the progress from one stage to another.

The worst thing about dementia is that you will either die because of it or before you get it. These is no escape. It’s almost like if you defeat death by all other means dementia is an impassable barrier

This reminds me of my grandpa. No, he did not have dementia, but had kidney failure. He couldn't speak, move or anything, and someone had to pour water down his throat since how much he needed it. When our whole family spent time with him, I couldn't look at him. He was in such a deteriorated state that my mind was filled with guilt and remorse when I looked at him, so I tried my best to stay away from him, but at least be in his vision to let him know that I was fine and growing. These were his final moments, and my final moments with him before he died a day or a few days later. He was in his 50's-60's. I hate and always will hate any disease that affects the ability to express, move, or think.

Im watching my mother slowly slip into early stages of dementia and it breaks my heart to know how it will end. I also watched her father deteriorate over the course of about 10 years. At the end, the big bold man i knew was left in a fetal position not knowing who he was, where he was, or anyone around him. I fread seeing my mother end up the same way.

The names for the songs actually come from the lyrics in the sampled songs. For example, "Its Just A Burning Memory" is sampled almost entirely from the song "Heartaches" by Al Bowlly.
