So I read this super fascinating research article that the word “high functioning” like anxiety, depression, addict is actually a really disabling word bc having these things isn’t functioning lol so they want to change it to a “high masking” bc we are so good at masking it but it still affecting us so much on the inside and that shouldn’t be overlooked at bc we are still experiencing it.. just curious on your thoughts !! It’s super new and I loved it so I was curious

Interesting! I think of the meaning of functioning and while it’s not ideal - I can keep a job, wash myself and my kids, feed myself and my kids, pay bills on time. So I’m still a “functional” member of society. I agree we are masking tho! I also relate it to autism - high functioning autism can have jobs, relationships, degrees etc. low functioning people might need special care and facilities. Just like low functioning anxious people might not be able to hold a job etc. those are my thoughts 😂🤷🏻♀️ take it with a grain of salt ❤️❤️

Hi Torie. I’m on year 25 with Lupus and Sjogrens. I’ve been on Plaquenil for 24 years, but my ophthalmologist has encouraged me to stop it if approved by my rheumatologist. I was on Benlysta for a few weeks until I had to have emergency hip surgery. Can you tell me how you got past the fear of all the possible dangers of Benlysta and has it caused you to pick up illnesses, viruses, etc. more often? Thank you.
@toriebrame341917 күн бұрын
I love Benlysta. It gave me my life back. I had no energy and such intense joint, tendon, and muscle pain I almost couldn’t move at all. I was talking to a friend about the possible dangers of benlysta before I started taking it and she said “but what kind of life are you saving without taking it?” That was all I needed. 6 years in and my lupus is undetectable on the last year of blood draws. That was my reasoning and outcome and I know it’s not the same for everyone 🤍 I hope this helps.

I am looking to get off zoloft myself at the moment. I've mainly stuck to 25mg and it has helped my anxiety, but I have gained 10kg and feel like I have difficulty concentrating and apathy. Have been on for 16 months.

Thabk u for ur update OMG wait me too I’m coming off lexapro I been struggling on it last 2 years and I stopped for 4 months now I stop for 6 …. Omg Zoloft was something I wanted but I saw a new psychiatrist and she did a full assesment for me and gave me Wellbutrin …. What U said ?? A primary care ? She doesn’t know nothing I’m sorry family doctor can only give so many different prescriptions. but a psychiatrist they specialize in it and they know what category to put you in from asking are u simucidal are u self harm and very deeper questions do u hear voices etc . And 4 weeks straight . OMG double the dose in a week ?? Girl no that’s seems like she’s just giving U anything she can . You know Wellbutrin and lexapro and Zoloft aren’t even same thing or category

I have had chronic pericarditis for nearly two years now come September this year, I know how hellish it can be 🫂 thank you for talking about this, when I got diagnosed with it (and severe SLE/CNS Lupus after a decade of having it!) I knew absolutely no one that had it. Developing it helped me get my DX finally though, so at least that was a positive 😅 sending so much love and extra spoons your way! 💜
