Out of curiosity: How important is the per-wheel valve for you? It looks like you could save a lot of space and complexity if you would not use that manual valve in each wheel. It would I guess mean the tire pressure would be equalized over all wheels? Good job!
@HenkTheCamperTankАй бұрын
It would be very helpful when you get a small puncture as you could inflate the tire more regularly until you find a spot to change the tire. Or after you have changed the tire, you can inflate just the one 😄 But generally if we would go off/on road it makes more sense to inflate and deflate all of them and yes it will equalize them if all are open 😄

are you sure rubber hoses will do it?! Tatra didn't put the metal pipes there for nothing, it's an air-cooled engine (with oil) and there will be high temperatures right there near the engine. The 120°C temperature of the engine (oil) shown by the thermometer is no exception. Look in the cabin for the thermometers to which values they are calibrated. The temperature of the cylinder head ranges from 120 - 180 - 240°C.
@HenkTheCamperTankАй бұрын
Thanks for the reply! Good point. I choose rubber ones because on the left close to the engine there were already rubber lines. The lines that I bought are for meant for high temperature in the engine compartment. But I will double check the temperatures! Thanks for the feedback! Much appreciated 😄

in 1985 i got this model brand new in the army. You're missing a folding bed behind the seats, I didn't see a headlight on the roof, the exhaust can also be turned upwards. When renovating, pay attention to all cardan joints and all parts where there are grease nipples and wring out the old one properly. You will also need almost 10 kg of petroleum jelly. The winch rope is 80 m long. When the engine is in good condition, even with a load of 5 tons, it can reach a maximum of 115 km/h. I really liked this car. Otherwise, the power of the engine for pulling is 45t, it was developed mainly as a tractor for military equipment.
@HenkTheCamperTank2 ай бұрын
Hi 👋 Awesome! 🙌 This one is from ‘86, I have the bed but I removed it to get some easier access underneath 😄 When I bought it the light was already missing sadly, but the handle and the switch on the inside of the cab are there! So I might look for a replacement. I ordered a lot of grease last week. I have a friend who is Czech and owns a lot of tatra. We checked all the oils, all was good! We did see that the joints that have rubber over it, the rubber needs to be replaced but no water had come in! Next step is engine oil replacement and repairing 1 air system for 1 tire as it is loosing pressure. Brakes looked almost new when I removed the brake drum. Last weekend we flipped the exhaust up! So we don’t walk through the fumes when it is running. Very nice information of you! Nice to meet you!

Hi Henk, nice video 👍🏻 You do hard job with the Tyre. I have again some tips for you 😉👍🏻 1, Buy a bigger tools😅 You need big Hammer ⚒️ and big kee + 1,5m long steel pipe, otherways you broke your hands and body🫣 2, if the mothers from the srubs will not lose, heat the mothers little bit, put big kee+ this 1,5m long steel pipe,push, and some other guy , hit with the Hammer on the ker😉👍🏻💪🏻 You heart the knick noise and the mother lose. Than use electric or air pistol 😉👍🏻 3, buy on scrap old rim, turn the Tyre um 180° and put it on the old rim. The weight the Tyre help you, so you only hit the Tyre with big Hammer, and the Tyre fall Down. When not, put brake fluid betwem the Tyre and rim. 😉 4, when the tyre is Down from the rim, put out the intube, put some air in, and put it in some box, where you have water, than the bubles show your,where is the hole in the intube 😉👍🏻 5, you have a Tatra, you need mechanic or elektric lifter for 1,5ton + crane for 6t lift... This help you a realy lot. When i buy my first Tatra, and start check the tyres, after 2hours, i go on internet and buy lifter and crane 😅😅😁😁 6, NEVER USE THE THE BLACK POWER KEE FOR THE MOTHERS,THAT YOU USE ON VIDEO. THIS CAN DAMAGE THE MOTHER+ SRUBS AND THAN YOU HAVE BIG PROBLEM. ALWYAS HEATING WITH FIRE , THAN BIG TOOLS, THAN PUSH UND HIT.... 👍🏻💪🏻 Thats the easy way to fix it 😉🤝

Yeah I have some things in mind, 1 is to paint the rims, parts are a bit rusty. The other part is to use “Däckpasta” as they call it in Sweden. It prevents the tire from sticking to the rim but ensures a tight seal. So that will hopefully work, but time will tell that 😅

If is the new oil coming out from the hole,lock it with the scrub and dann👍🏻💪🏻 Use oil PP80 or PP90😉👍🏻 . Tomorow i send you pictures for the axle air. It should probably be obvious but: what is safer about the jack under the brake drum compared to what? Under the leaf springs? What a nice garage/storage space you have now! I can really see a nice workshop there!
@HenkTheCamperTank5 ай бұрын
Previously I had the support under the axle, but the leaf spring is helt in place by C shaped metal to the axle. If the axle is supported there is no pressure in the C shaped metal and it can fall off 😅 the pressure of the leaf spring ensures that it stays on the axle. If I understood correctly. By placing it under the brake drum the leaf spring still puts pressure on this C shaped metal, holding it into place I’ll send you some images on instagram!

@@janwijbrand hi Jan. The Tatra axle are different. On PVC trucks, is one long axle, but Tatra have half axles, so if you put the hydraulic jack only for par minutes under the C part on axle, to change the Tyre,than is ok. But, when you need more time, you muss put the jack under the Brakedramm, becouse, the weight of this half axle is pushink this hydraulick Jack to the side, and thic C part can fall out, and if you work under the Tatra, you dont wont,that the Jack or the axle hit you🫣🫣 so it is for your safety 🙏🙏 + on video,you can see, when Henk start lift the axle, first is comming up this C part, and than the axle with suspension.
