I don't it woukld be $1k, especially 4 years ago. ?? To others, wire brush and penetrating oil, the end of those hub bolts clean. Take a pick tool and fully clean out the recessed 12 point area. Rinse with water spray bottle. U have to get the recessed area clean

Good morning my friend, I have a good question, I have a 2004 Nissan Titan 4x4 and a couple of months ago I changed the Rack n pinion and when I disconnected the bar from the Rack n pinion it was funny to turn it around and I only heard like a spring and well it turns out that it broke it and 😁😁😁 and I bought it and now the horn and the cross control work but it shows me VDC off and SLIP 😥😥 and it seems that an angle sensor also broke, what do you think ??? I hope you can help me please 🙏🙏🙏
@robertficek758624 күн бұрын
If you are getting an outrageous quote on these control arms and afraid to take on the pinch bolt, one option is to just scrap and replace the entire knuckles as well, they may be $250 each but will also save you hours if not days

@robertficek758624 күн бұрын
the balljoints are usually very good and over time its the rubber bushing that breaks from all the twisting, control arms usually get changed out after 150k and 10 years, but if you plan to keep the car that long, break that bolt loose and put anti seize on it

Hi Tom, My car presented the same problems (p11b4 and p11b2) but the car is already in limp mode, can you tell me if when I change the parts the car will automatically come out of limp mode or do I need to reset something with the scanner?
@OakHollowGarageАй бұрын
You will probably have to reset something. I honestly don't remember. Mine went into limp mode one of the times the sensor failed and I don't remember if I had to reset it with the OBD tool.

As a starting point rather than using tape I would use a Compass or Calipers to trace the cowl radius on to the hood. Then sand back to the mark to get an even gap.

I am going through the wiring right now and have the same question on the "Hot Rod Wire". What was the verdict? and where did you decide to place the fuse box? Thanks for sharing
@OakHollowGarage2 ай бұрын
The hot rod wiring wasn't needed. I ended up putting the fuse box under the dash. It's difficult to explain. Look at a couple videos later I show the placement. I think it's part 33 or 34 where I talk about the location and the challenges because of where I put it.

Another interesting video-nice work Thomas! To help adjust the hood gap can you adjust the main body at all or is it fixed in one position on the mounts?
@OakHollowGarage2 ай бұрын
There is some room to adjust the body as well, but I think the hood will settle in nicely with some minor tweaks.

This is nearly exactly where I am with the hood. The passenger side curves in too on mine. Additionally the drivers side upper corner seems to sit quite proud of the body. It’s going to take a ton of manipulation. I’m now testing a new gas strut location closer to the pivot point to see if I can eliminate the struts wanting to push the body forward.

Another great video Thomas! We appreciate all the lessons learned, as we definitely keep them in mind with our own build. And thanks for sharing our channel and others' with your audience! Hopefully folks are watching all of our channels, because there are many ways you can build this car and its good to see the process from different perspectives.

Exactly, there's certainly no one "right" way to build these cars. I'm loving watching what you guys are doing and the handful of other builder's who are making content. We are a small community and it's important to learn from others as well as share and help them. Thanks for what you guys are doing. You make excellent content that's informative as well as entertaining.

I used an OEM nissan clock spring in my 2012 Titan and now the traction control light is on. Did I do something during installation or does it need to be reset at the dealer?

Took it to an alignment shop and $150 later the light is off. Pretty lame, but I couldn't find anything on any forum about someone being able to reset it themselves.

How did you managed to get the torque wrench into the other end of the control arm ?
@TheRacingShawn4 ай бұрын
Dealers are crazy these days. Macan has the same design. Dealer wanted $3000+. I bought the Meyle set for $220. It took me 4 hrs to get it done both sides. The pinch bolts on my car were easy to remove. The only challenging part was the installation of the interior bolts. The air suspension left limited space for my torque wrench. I ended up buying a slim flex head torque wrench and a low profile 16mm socket. Then the job was done smoothly.

A more effective/easier method of removing a stuck and seized in pinch bolt is to snap off/cut off the HEAD of the bolt to then PULL the bolt out from the threaded side using a specific, and very expensive, pulling tool.........but I prefer to use some threaded bar, a long connecting nut and a short length of square metal box section, costing approximately £20👍
@matthewcallnan88225 ай бұрын
I tried that...the threaded end snapped off, and I had to get a new knuckle
