My son’s ttr 90 seems to have a tight shifter. I can change gears on it but he’s 11 and says it’s to hard to shift up. I have adjust the clutch screw and bolt but he says still too hard. Any idea how to get it a little less tight/hard? TIA

Nice work!! I'm planning on doing a frame swap on 2011 Yamaha Grizzly 550. Couldn't find a used frame, so I went with an OEM frame, $855.00 Wish me luck! Any suggestions or things you might do different a 2nd time around?

The 550 and 700 as re the same fram I believe. The hardest part was getting the EPS wiring and modules back to there spots. Besides that, take your time.

Just replaced the one way bering on my primary clutch and now when I depress the kickstarter only the secondary clutch boss spins and nothing else. Has new friction plates and metal plates. Can't figure it out for the life of me. Any ideas?
@IamhumanmostlyАй бұрын
Disregard. Solved my own problem. I forgot to check the clutch adjustment screw on the left side of the engine. It was screwed all the way in and pushing the clutch out as if it was shifting, which didn't allow the secondary clutch to spin in a kick start. Duh. Works like a charm now.

I have a 2020 Yamaha Special Edition that will not start. I think it's the fuel pump because I can't hear the fuel pump priming. All I hear is a couple of clicking noises. I'm pretty disappointed in my machine so far. Normally Yamaha's are bullet proof. I bought a 2001 400 Kodiak and sold it to my brother. It's still running strong. Then I bought a 2011 450 Grizzly and gave it to my other brother, who rides it everyday with no issues. So, I bought myself a 2020 Special Edition fuel injected ATV and it had fuel issues over the summer. It won't start until after it cooled down. Now I think my fuel pump went out. My question is, Are fuel injected ATVs really worth it? I was very happy with my carbureted ATVs.
@eloos749 ай бұрын
I had a 400 carburetor version for 17 yrs was bullit proof. I do still like the new 700cc as I have 3 of them. You can put a volt meter or test light on the 2 wire connector and make sure it's getting the 12v when key is cycled. If so, replace fuel pump. I use all 3 of min either every day or every week. So fuel does not get stagnant. T Try to keep ethical free fuel in it and at least start it once a month and ride it

Tanks very much buddy for responding now can you please give some advice about how to get running
@eloos749 ай бұрын
It needs 3 things, compression, fuel and spark. If it was sitting the carburetor probably needs to be cleaned. You can try and start it and spray starting fluid in it and if it fires you know you just need to work on the fuel part of it.

In the beginning, you mention having an electrical issue ( The way you said it sounded like you hadn't found it yet) when you first turned the key on. If the electrical issue is That sometimes you turn the key on but you have no power, And you can't do anything with it I've had the same or similar problem. After years of trying to figure it out, I finally found out that it's a faulty key switch. My kodiak sat all winter unused Because I couldn't figure it out turns out a 15$ switch was the problem. Good luck

I would pull the side cover off and see if the there is a gear broken or something. Or from the left side if the motor pull the plastic cap on the stator housing. I think it is a 17mm or 19mm and try to manual turn over the motor from the crank

Being a woman and dealing with people out charging me is flustrating and disappointing. You've braught me insight and i appreciate you.

Aftermarket just means a non oem pump. Usually the oem parts are better but cost 2 to 4 times more then a aftermarket manufacturer. I put a lot of aftermarket parts on quads and Usually don't have a issue. As you can tell I buy and sell a lot of quads. Yamaha are the best. That's why I have 3 700s

i just purchased this machine used from Dennis Dillon Canyon Honda, In Nampa, Idaho. the fuel pump was the first to go out, the first time bi took it in mtns. I love the Wench in front on machine. it helped in towing me back to camp. It has taken over a week in the dealership to get the part to them. i am patient, yet, have to wait. i have to pay for 1 1/2 hrs labor to have them install it, too. they charged me $600 for the water pump. why so expensive? i originally paid just under $5 grand for it used. It's a great Atv. I'm a woman and my whole family has utvs, atvs, etc. Thanks for your videos.

My boys have a TTR90 and its been a great bike as we keep up with the maintenance, etc. I have noticed lately it is starting the slip (kick start). Nice to know what the issue is. I'll have to see if this is something I can tackle on my own. Thx for the video. Love your shop friend too on the floor as you work! If it was me, you have yourself a great bike fixed up now and would keep it. It's hard to find these smaller kid bikes not thoroughly trashed with little or no maintenance on them. I think you said you paid $200 plus your $600 you put into it, you still can't find a bike with all the new parts and work you have done to it for $800. You know what you have done to it and you are good for several years to come but I digress. We same graphics as we have on ours too. Enjoy the bike!
