Why do you need to use the copper tape? Does it form some kind of shielding?

The copper tape allows the angel hair wires to be soldered to more easily and prevents them from ripping. While not completely necessary, we recommend for a stronger connection.

Is this suitable to be used submerged in water like a pool? For costumes?

Typically we do not recommend in permanent installations for submerged applications, but they can be used for temporary use, like pool toys, life jackets, marine vehicles, etc. Costumes are quite possible with application via heat transfer or sewing.

wow its just like oldschool fiber optics. so glad all i have to do these days is use my fusion splicer. anyway just wondering if i could just glue on a SC connector and use my VFL to get a result for demonstration of the way fiber works por people i teach to splice?

Unfortunately this product does not work with a fusion splicer. You could glue on an FC, SC, LC or other types of connectors.

Yes you can, but you could also use black heat shrink tubing to block out any areas you don't want illuminated. Sometimes this might be easier.

How can i make rgbw led strip to output only white color? I only have that at home and i want to put it behind tv but i want it to only output white light. How?

If you have a color controller (or even if you don't), you can hook up only the WHITE channel and the V+ channels. If your strip is ONLY RGB (not RGBW) and do not have a color controller, you could hook up each channel (R, G & B) to one another as the ground, and the V+ wire as the + (or red channel). This will blend all the colors and create a blended white.

@@gamingit1 double check your strip, but most likely, yes. The strip will have a + for the voltage positive, and will likely just have the color (r, g, b, w) for the negative.

Which addressable driver do you recommend? Is there an Arduino library? What library is it compatible with?

Hi Gary, the LEDs in the video are a single color at a time LED, and do not contain a integrated IC. While you may be able to control a driver with arduino, it would not directly drive these LED strips. You would want a color controller that can output 5A per channel (24V) for best results with these strips.

If you don't cut the strips, they are capable of being washed. However if cut, then the waterproofing is not as good, even when you try to seal it back up using glue and/or tape.

too bad the postage on just those little connectors from the US to Australia is $44 usd. which at the moment works out to be $65 Australian. for a $2.50 part that the packaging probably weighs more than. i know its not your guys fault but merica doesn't seem to want our business

Where is your copper tape ? That takes any mechanical load away from the corona wires . It's much more reliable

I have been designing first stages of baggy jackets and other clothes wear with idea of adding lights too. I knew it was possible but I just didn't know where to look and how it can be down. Glad I found this video.
