You actually played this better than a lot of other instruments I've heard...very nice. Normally used to String Bass in the Messiah or Jazz pieces....

Not a double bass player (electric guitar/bass, primarily a metal musician), but that left hand technique is not the "standard" one, right? I've never seen anyone play in that position, using the thumb and hitting the strings from above like that. It does look extremely efficient though. Might just be the fact that i've never seen anyone play something this fast and complex on a double bass
