best way to totally remove chrome (if it's not a chrome paint, but a real chrome coating with 3 layers nickel -> copper -> chrome) is to use a FeCl3. it's a 'powder' that should be mixed with water. you need to leave the detail for some time in this solution. the warmer the water - the faster the reaction. FeCl3 is used in home made circuit boards, to remove unnecessary copper and make traces. i have tested this on my Subaru, works perfectly. after the chrome removal just paint the details as any plastic detail on your car. any paint shop can do this. or just cover the plastic with base coat and anything you want (dempinox, raptor, spray paint, etc).

The EC off road unit is a Samsung unit with very nice audio chip in it, i have a 23 Y62 TI-L and the new version(2) of the ec off road unit and it sounds and looks a heap better than the old unit. The 24 til doesn't have all the same stuff from the 23 til as they reduced the price as well as what the car has. 23 has the better speakers and 360 camera etc

Hi mate, how did you tap in to the 12V socket? Is it via some sort of a piggyback adaptor or did you expose the existing 12V socket wires and did a soldering job with the UHF wires?

I just got my 2024 Y62 TI yesterday, and I'm really happy with the new infotainment system. However, it's disappointing that they removed the 360 camera. Overall, though, I'm quite pleased with the vehicle!

Entertainment system is supplied by directed Technologies. I phoned them they said go back to the dealer. Went to the Dealer they phoned them would not talk to the dealer had to be in writing. So still waiting for 360 camera. Directed Technologies have no idea of customer service. Looks like we will need to go aftermarket with a seperate screen I was told the video feed for the screen is unique to them so you can't simply use an after market camera. Very sad an Australian Company won't talk to customers.

You cant get the 24 screen in pre 24 models, so almost any upgrade is better than standard pre-24. Is it not?
@WLD623 ай бұрын
No, you can't. However if you can find a 24 head unit, that upgrade would be ideal for a 23 or under car. After using the 22 head unit, the 24 and the EC Offroad one. The 24 head unit is my pick. Personal preference though.

@@joelevans6374 Very nice, enjoy the car! Something I always say to people, what do you want the infotainment system to do? The stock one is fine, it works, it has bluetooth and all features work as intended. I'm use to it now and dont really have any gripes, better maps would be ideal, but your phone can do that. A phone holder is a great option and allows you to see your maps or whatever it may be.

@@joelevans6374 Glad you're enjoying it mate, best all round car I reckon. There is that problem of everyone just jumping on the bandwagon for different products, without having much thought. Something I am trying to highlight on my channel. In some cases these new products are just a waste of money. A lot of these after market screen don't work as advertised or have issues. There is not a “massive” difference in the way these things run on 95 or 91. If fact the different it’s only slight with 91 and I can’t tell the difference on 95. Same with economy. On a recent trip with mine towing 3t I averaged the same on 95 and 98 and only slightly more when fill with 91. Great car.
