I prefer the style of doom 2016 over eternal but dark ages does look nice

Ray tracing is revolutionary, it's just has a high hardware requirement. I think Doom the dark ages is one of the first games with forced RT, as seen in the parts requirements. Textures are almost perfect already. There is no work needed there IMO. Its all in the lighting now. As soon as hardware catches up we are gonna see some crazy stuff.

I hate that everything now has to be or hyperrealistic or else ppl will automatically say it looks bad. Innovative artstyles are generally way better then that hyperrealistic garbage you see in most AAA vid games.

since there are so many UE4 and soon UE5 games, which run an engine built for dynamic changing scenes, its kinda logical, that it looks, like there hasnt been much of an upgrade. if you look at a very static environment like quantum break, which looks incredible, you can see how its possible, to achieve very good and realistic looking scenes in a static environment. but that stuff only works in static non open world scenarios and it still takes alot of time and skill, to create these visuals. although i do agree that some AAA games from today kinda look unecessary shitty.

Since 2016 we got games that REVOLUTIONIZED the entire gaming industry in many different fields like: -Red Dead 2 (2018, Open World mechanics), -Seuna's Saga (2024, Graphics and sound design), -The Last Of Us 2 (2020, Animations and acting), -Resident Evil 2 & 4 (2019+2023, way of producing remakes), -Baldur's Gate 3 (2023, CRPG genre), -And yes, even ASTROBOT changed something: they of including and exploiting a controller in the damn game So no, I know the current trend is to shit on everything about the current era crying about how good things were in "the good old days" but it's far from true.

Graphics don't need to get better than this. Already the hardware companies are pushing the developers to push the graphics to the limit, due to which gaming has now become a very expensive sport. Developers should focus more on improving the gaming experience as whole rather than focusing on hyper realistic graphics only.

ID SOFTWARE did say they've always wanted to make every doom to be different and play different. They also said gameplay of dark ages is to stand and fight. DOOM was run and gun, DOOM eternal was jump and shoot. I personally want this style with the dark ages because it is a more slower paced and strategic take rather than running in gunning on the previous two games

IF ITS NOT BROKEN DON’T FIX IT! Games used to be enjoyable back when they were just mere pixels on the screen. Game developers focused more on gameplay rather than graphics but these days all most game developers care about is ray tracing and shiny graphics that you almost can’t even tell the difference from traditional graphics when put side by side while running on a $2000 rtx graphics card at 29fps.

Graphics do not matter, you can't get better than this, and when we do our systems, computers, won't be able to run it and will be struggling to keep up, its just here to push graphics cards and hardware at this point. I don't even know why youd want it to "look better" games have looked peak for like 5 years at this point. I don't care about seeing the pores in doom guys testis

Probably no trickery since the tacked on multiplayer modes in the recent DOOM games haven't been great. They probably just didn't feel it was worth thr effort this time around.

The rail is more fortified, and the switch two controllers are bigger and heavier. When the connector is smaller and not fortified with plastic, it's going to be flimsier.

I’d like to add another point to this. Nintendo-developed Mario Kart games have basic game play characteristics outside of the spinoff Mario Kart games. The mainline games have unique nitro courses that are used in future itinerations of Mario Kart games, while simultaneously using retro courses from previous games as well.
