I made a ring that broke in the dried green ware state. I followed this procedure and torch fired it. You could not tell it had been repaired when it was done. A week later it broke. Do you have any suggestions about how to avoid this in the future?

Can you do this and use a torch for the 999 clay?

I like this video but if you are watching this as a beginner you need to understand that the lump of clay being rolled out at the start is far bigger than a 10g pack. I'm assuming the amount actually used for the ring is 10g in the end but you'll need to roll out more to be able to cut a ring this size.

Oh this was an excellent video I am so excited to make something like this but I sure was hoping you would’ve made the alligator I guess it’s the same concept??? And what would I play sit on to make the design??? I just use the same wood clay is that what you called it to come and make a half shape???

👍👍👍👍👍 you did a great job… because usually when people who start out doing Metal Clay they’re not silversmiths so they don’t understand that even when the ring that is still in clay form and then when fired it becomes metal form you can still make adjustments that’s where I’ll understand completely what you are talking about since I’ve been a silversmith instructor for over 20 years and I used to teach at a college too. I sure wished I could get a hold of you because I would love to be an affiliate for your company or an ambassador for your company and use your products to teach all of my students how to use art clay silver. I already have 1700 Silversmith friends or students that I teach or that I’m trying to get them to start working with Metal Clay than after The clay turns into a metal form then that’s when their silversmithing skills can kick in and start adding stones that couldn’t even be fired in a kiln. I have seen many videos of instructors using a torch to fire their rings, I have art clay silver and it’s.999 I’m assuming you use .999 but I was to that I had to use sterling silver clay because it needed the hardness. So the ring will be more durable. I have been torch firing all my art clay silver up to 16 g thickness and they have turned out great. Can I torch fire this ring too ? And yes I can make sure the ring is rolled out thick like yours..plz help thank you , Autumn Michelle
