@@killa-_-loki1008 burnt up the trigger wire on the starter. Looks like it was going out for a while even before I owned it.

@@killa-_-loki1008 the more I work on this truck and go through it, the more I wanna find the po and beat him. Clean truck looked good but didn't realize how many shortcuts and how much shoddy work was done. Homemade drop links on the sway bar, homemade track bar mount, wiring that was done in it was just twisted together with tape, some places didn't even have tape, light bar mounted on the roof and not sealed and dented to where the water just runs in, and the homedepot pvc intake pipe. The list continues little by little im making the truck better.

Lol everyone has said, replace the engine and that car is gone.

So I check fuel, air, spark, and compression. Its getting all three. I changed the plug and shot starting fluid to see what it does and I got the same results as seen there.

@@sadelcol what is the compression reading you get vs what they recommend? From what I understand compression can’t be checked due to compression release on the cam. You have to do a leak down test. Next step is to check valve lash and adjust if necessary.

@@pattayperformance yea I couldn't get a good read on comp but would come up 100-115 when I could sent the tester back home with my dad. I was thinking valve lash, or maybe the woodruff key on the flywheel

@@pattayperformance well I found the problem, popped the valve cover and noticed the exhaust valve doesn't move so I would assume its bent.

It came with the quad when I got it. I know its a DMC afterburner.

@@BasedKem sorry I didnt answer sooner the notification never came through you can get the spacer through boomba.com. I have since removed it from my car have thought about selling it since i have a tial bov now.

The only thing done actual engine wise was lifters and rockers, other then that it was stock motor.

Okay I see stock gears? Stock water pump? Long tubes? Or just exhaust

@@lalosanchez4624 2.73 gears, longtubes, and stock water pump, exhaust was careless as well.

@@lalosanchez4624 well at the time it was 351whp/362wtq, but there was a issue while dynoing and not realizing until after moe was done. The ecu was tuned and shifting for 3.73 and it had 2.73 gears in it. So the numbers were lower then what was expected. Those powerdyne super chargers were honestly a budget introductory super. They were good for about 10psi and about 450 on the lt1 platform. From what I remember they were unlike most supers as all centrifugal are mostly gear driven inside, this one was belt driven. I will see if I can find a link to some more info on it.

+sadelcol I just got a 2.5rs sadly auto but with 50k miles .Have you had any problems with it ?

+DjXXS3RL the only problem I had encountered with it was around 160k miles the oil pump died killing cyl 1 rod bearing. it was a fun car even N/a I had rear sway bar, intake, full exhaust, h&r springs and some really sticky rubber making it a blast in the corners. they are great handling cars and great sounding.

bought a 3inch full turbo back off eBay and put the borla xr-1 muffler in place of the muffler it came with. all in all I had about 350 in it and its sounded tons better then a lot of the others out there.

+sadelcol thanks for replying so quickly! I have the same GLI with a 3 inch down pipe and stock piping size straight pipe. I get a lot of compliments but your GLI sounds nasty.

+james knapp no problem man. I actually sold mine last year. I wanted to keep it but I messed up my back really bad and putting the kid in and taking him out along with me having to crawl out it just wasn't practical anymore. I still love the glis. the exhaust is what I spent time on figuring out the sound. I have another video of it I believe.

+sadelcol yeah I watch all of your videos. By any chance do you remember which turbo back exhaust you bought from eBay?

+james knapp I believe it was a tsudo n1. I can look when I'm off of work so I have more time to do so.

the xs series is supposed to be the quiet side of things. everyone kept telling me to go with the xs but the xr1 in my opinion was the better choice for the 1.8t application. mine had a resonator but it really wasn't much of one and I am sure the outcome with just a xr1 would've been then same. I have actually sold my jetta and moved on but with my new car I am gonna be buying xr1 mufflers again and doing a custom exhaust.

I don't remember the part number but I know it was a 12" long oval borla xr1 muffler with 3" in/out. couldn't tell you how many compliments I got on that exhaust.

jhobbins3 honestly I know this was just a powerdyne unit couldn't tell ya the pulley size. I don't know a whole lot about superchargers at all.
