I had no idea you streamed man. You did my favorite rap in Adventure Time. The one about nuts 🔥 Not to ignore your prescient commentary here. The culture of hip hop being corrupted by capital interests is spot on. The same has happened, and will happen, to all countercultural artistic movements. That’s how we end up with cops jamming to RATM. It’s incredibly disheartening. I wish more people were willing to acknowledge that reality. What can be done to make that happen though seems like an impossible question.

Is it fair to say the metoo movement fizzled out? And ultimately failed? Neil Degrasse Tyson was cleared of wrongdoing without much explanation, the companies making money off of him conducted "investigations". Two of the SCOTUS justices have assaulted people. This behavior is everywhere.

Hey OME, been on you and DFD since I was a teenager. I don’t think people give a fuck about the punk nature of hip-hop. The I-got-something-to-say rap isn’t needed because nobody got time to think about nuances. The mental work and attention span needed to have a nuanced conversation about society is in short supply. Consuming (Greed, Power, Status, Consumption) sells and is tangible, I’m not saying reject the world and be a monk, but I’m surprised we’re doing this well at getting along. We have a culture war. I see people who look like me picking our food for low pay and half of our politicians are running on a program of hatred towards Latinos. Zero room for nuance, cater to the lowest. Now we enter danger territory. Stay blessed and keep thinking Unc.

The "media" doesn't care about what you want to talk about. They only care about creating the context around what you say and what yoy see.

As far as you thinking that hip-hop had a chance not to be about money, clothes, and who you rolled around with, again, I don’t know what you’re talking about because that’s all it’s ever been. The guys that you’re talking about like KRS-One are so few in number and I never heard them called hip-hop. Public Enemy and KRS-One were always referred to as rap.

I’m very curious about what you’re talking about, because I never heard anyone anywhere talk about Combs being some kind of criminal. Not once. I don’t know who you’re talking about that was supposedly trying to have that conversation.

There are too many communities being trampled by the morally dubious that would steal from or see their own trampled for a quick buck. But why is it that arguing for accountability on this becomes some sort of act of pretentious grandstanding in the public eye? I'm usually the first in my close circles to throw capitalism under the bus at any opportunity, but there's gotta be some level of tribal human nature that supports this behavior. Like building someone impossibly high at all costs and then watching them crash while cheering the entire time must scratch some deeply-flawed part of our caveman brains. How do we heal that kind of societal sickness?

This is great. It's worth thinking about the fact PE and KRS were both institutionalized, and KRS is now at a point of trying to create his own institutions. That brings to the point of taking resources from labels to have conversations. So how far can 'conversation' go alone? What does it mean to be actually political? With that, it's worth thinking about the point that Kendrick and J Cole are not 'counter culture enough' -- what does it mean to be 'counter culture' in conversation versus, actually political and I would say LOOK AT NONAME

I knew nothing about Open Mike Eagle when Dark Comedy was released but around 2016 I started listening to the Maron WTF podcast. After a few months I eventually reached an episode with this unassuming guy talking about comedy and being a musician. I googled the guy and the first hits were some episodes of a podcast called Secret Skin. I played a few episodes and then KZbin recommended me a song called My Auntie's Building which I checked out. That was enough to make me want to check out some of the guy's other stuff. I jumped onto Bandcamp and saw the Brick Body album for like 11 bucks, or the OME back catalogue for $24. I liked the music but I love a deal so I went for the catalogue. For several months that became my soundtrack to work to. I later realised that Bandcamp files didn't seperate the songs into folders correctly so when I played the collection back I would get track 1 on Film Festival followed by track 1 on Dark comedy etc. Been a fan ever since. Happy Anniversary.

I helped awoman who escaped snuff films. Theres a farn in kingman az. They also keep pregnant girls and sell the babies. When Paul Bonaci admitted to taking Johnny Gosch he mentioned it also. Paul was a rrafficked child turned trafficker. The reason he wasnt charged and was made put to be crazy was bc he also told of celebrities and politicians. The videos out there but it keeps getting taken down or they make him out to be nuts. Hes not lying I know bc I helped that girl. Its Midnight Productions in Az. Its all connected. Diddy Kelly Pizza Gate ALL the rich white guys. Its all the same ring. Ive been telling people this for the last 4 years. No one listens
@missantrafalgar7825 күн бұрын
People only paid attention because Cassie got money out of it. In addition to the uproar of is she lying and is she not lying. It got even more steam when it was alleged diddy was sleeping with men as well. I think that's where the uproar stayed. People would have forgotten about Cassie If it wasn't for the male victims. Because so many people are so used to women being abused that they would have just brushed it off as a statistic.
@missantrafalgar7825 күн бұрын
There has always been an uproar if your rapper and gay or bisexual at the same time. He was straight and I know this with confidence if he was straight and this happened to only women. No one would care. This would have been swept under the rug and people would still be having a discussion on if Cassie was lying or not.
