I just built one, with the factory SC, 1200hp. So that makes me feel pretty good about the power its going to make!

If you don`t use your mic`s for vise grips they will remain good forever.What might change is if the temperature shifts by, let`s say 30 degrees F Steel will expand and shrink. .0001 inch for every 10 degrees depending on thickness of the metal. 68 F or 20 C is the international baseline for calibration.

How much would you charge if you turn my 4.8 engine into a 5.0 or would you sell everything you need and paper to build it?
@fordstrokers4 күн бұрын
These videos are funny. 302 stock blocks always break in the same location. Number 1 and number 2 main bolt holes 99% of the time. Main caps walk and chatter, break develops at the main bolt hole and runs to the cam tunnel. Then a cam bearing walks out. A crack in the lifter valley is the result of a crack from the main bolt holes. They never crack in the lifter valley first.

Let’s see that motor in a car for a full season of drag racing. I don’t believe that just a few pulls on a dyno is a fair representation of real world use.

Not quite sure exactly how a ohv cylinder head is gonna flow as much or even more than a dohc cylinder head specifically the coyote cylinder head which from a stock stand point are probably the highest factory flowing head ever manufactured from the factory on mass produced engine in history, and being a chevy guy this isn't easy to admit, but based fact proven the coyote and it's 302ci displacement has proven and achieved some very respectable power numbers in just factory trim, So this is gonna be a very very interesting video😮

Great video! I have been wondering for a long time, when you grease bolts or use loctite (which as I understand, changes how bolt threads bind and therefore changes torque applied to the wrench), do you use any "rule of thumb" to change torque specs. as to not overtighten bolts?
@EngineLabsАй бұрын
ARP provides torque specs designed around their Ultra-Torque lube, and with the rod bolt stretch gauge, we can see actual stretch, so the torque value is what it is, at that stretch.

@ 0:04 I wondered where the 8,000 rpm LS engine videos are?
@RandomGuyDanАй бұрын
Very interesting. I would argue that accuracy is more important on the 3/8 drive that is more likely to be used on low torque situations where damage is more likely if excess torque is applied. Think small bolts into aluminum parts or spark plugs into aluminum heads.

Where does the number 5252 come from? Couldn’t it be replaced with any other number
@EngineLabsАй бұрын
It's a constant derived from the complex bits of the conversion from lb-ft of torque to horsepower. Here's a breakdown of that: www.enginelabs.com/news/torque-talk-pound-feet-foot-pounds-one/

I’ve been using CDI torque wrenches. It’s a Snap-on industrial brand that is much cheaper than buying off the truck

@aaronliddell4280 currently waiting on a crank. Then I'll be putting together a forged 363 short-block, putting it back together with the same blower and top end.
