Awesome video. So interesting how we change and evolve over the years, it's nice to have a record of that and being able to reflect on it. I don't usually comment but I had to mention that coincidentally I got into planning October last year after my Dad passed away at the end of August

Thank you for the kind words. It is wild to think how we evolve as people and how our needs evolve over time. I’m always fascinated to learn what planner systems work for everyone. I so badly wanted to like bullet journaling but I would never take the time to think through it and be creative. I kept making the same things over and over 😆. Hey luv, thank you for sharing. I have a desk agenda and it takes awhile to find what works for your individual needs. Honestly, if I was in your shoes, I would sit down, write on a plain sheet of paper a list of what you want your planner to help you accomplish, wether that be for work and/or personal. Don't worry about what it looks like or how you think it should look, this is just to get the functionality down on paper. There are so many choices when it comes to curating your own planner and decision fatigue is inevitable. Just based off what you said, it sounds like you may want to use a combination of a few things to help work stay organized and stay on top of what you need to have "written down". I would use a combination of digital- i.e. google calendar, slack, asana, notion, etc, there are plenty to choose from and customize to what needs to be done- these are especially helpful for project management and long term planning. I would also look into taking one of your notebooks and using it for strictly to dos- where you can setup what is necessary for you to accomplish that day and date it accordingly. It will take time for you to play around and find what suites your unique needs and style. I love watching people decorate and do all the pretty planning, but for myself that doesn't work. These are just a few suggestions that may help. Trust me, faith journaling (where I write letters to God), has helped tremendously with my mental health and helped me get out of a depression. I'll be praying for you and wish you the best. 🙏💕
@petuniarose6 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! I appreciate your thoughtful and intentional comments. I think the todo notebook alone is genius and it’s been helping. I am glad mental health is being talked about more and I hope it continues to grow. Many of your suggestions align with the direction I’ve been trying to go…pretty? Maybe. Function? Absolutely. 🥰

@petuniarose7 ай бұрын
I try to sit down in the morning and see what I feel inspired to do that morning and check off what I do. I also log the day before if I didn’t at night. I often bring it to the couch and flip through it and log for the day if I don’t get to open it in the morning. In a sense, when one starts new habits the morning is great for the reminders and motivation. Once they become habitual I can transition to logging at night.

In the seven habits of highly effective people book, habit one be proactive. He says proactive people know to pause before they respond they are able to choose their response and keeping the end in mind. I have the seven habits planner and it is so much more than a planner!! You can find cool summaries of the book. Escaping the ordinary on you tube has a good one. Anyway I love this goal setup! So many cool ideas I have to watch again!!

Absolutely! Terrific book - I read it years ago but I could certainly read it again. I like reading those types of books over because you get to interpret them with overlapping experience. There was a time when I wasn't making any goals because life was far too unpredictable in one of my darkest periods. Out of that dark time came such a beautiful time, and I still find myself defaulting to that mindset from time to time. I appreciate that you picked up on the proactive nature because that's really what I want. What is relatively within my control and what would keep me motivated? Thank you for watching! I hope you come back soon. :)

Thank you so such an honest and thoughtful breakdown. Goal planning is so daunting for me. I haven’t even opened my Powersheets goal planner that I bought 2 months ago. Maybe today will be that day ;)
@petuniarose8 ай бұрын
Thank you for appreciating the process behind the setup. I tend to, like you, get stuck in a daunting mindset from time to time. One thing I'm trying to work on is to "just start and modify later". I took a creative writing class in college once and I heard the greatest piece of advice that I can apply in other areas. "Just start writing, whatever comes to mind. Then, go to your third page and start from there. By then, you are writing from a baseline of the original perspective that gets uncovered in time." I realize that if I were to start a planner and be unsure, or a presentation, anything really - I can always iterate and take an agile approach. Please let me know if you were able to get into your Powersheets planner! :)
