Thank you for your question. I have not had the problem of my 4Artist Markers drying out. I am wondering how you stored your markers? It is important to store them horizontally (that is, on their side) and not vertically with the tip up. If the tips of the markers are dried out, try removing them from the marker and soaking in odorless mineral spirits. This should loosen the paint in the nib since these paints are rewettable. Then, make sure to soak up the excess mineral spirits in paper toweling or a cloth, then reinsert in the body of the marker, shake well, and try again to get the paint to flow. Yes I have used the Ecoline watercolor inks as well. And, I agree, the Colorex appear a bit more intense and concentrated right out of the bottle, although both brands are excellent to paint with in my opinion. 🙂 I haven't had a chance to use the Ecoline brush pens yet... They're on my wish list as I would love to see how they perform! Cheers 🎨

Thank you for your question! If I want a thinner application of the Mixtion Relief then I use a palette knife to apply it. I find this method is better than attempting to use a brush for application because the brush can end up sticky when dry whereas the metal palette knife is easy to wipe off quickly after use. As an alternative, there is metal leaf "sizing" which is fluid and dries tacky. Here is a link to Pebeo's brush-on Mixtion paste glue liquid: amzn.to/48PZiwp . Thank you for your question! You need to wait until the Mixtion Relief or other sizing turns CLEAR and is tacky. Then, it is ready to receive the mirror foils. Bear in mind this tacky sizing can be used with not only mirror foil type leafing, but can also be used with loose metal leaf. I hope this helps! Enjoy, 🙂 Tristina

Hmmm, that's interesting... May I suggest you try to cover the area in which you want to apply the mixtion relief glue with either an acrylic spray or brush on an acrylic medium like gloss or mat medium before applying the glue. I know sometimes depending on the absorbency of the paper you can get mixed results, but putting the glue on a sealed or non-porous surface it grips very well. I hope this helps! 🙂 Tristina

Thank you for your question! Yes, the Cerne Relief dries with some flexibility similarly to the way acrylic paints have flexibility. I have applied it as a signature on top of many of my acrylic artworks on canvas and paper with no cracking or chipping over the years. I hope this helps! 🙂 Tristina

Thank you for your question! Cerne Relief is water based, so it may or may not stick to the oil surface... I would say if the oil painting is fully dry (generally 1 year cured or more), then you can give it a try. I'm not sure how the Cerne Relief would hold up being varnished over with an oil paint varnish, though. Definitely something to experiment with on test pieces. I love the raised dimension the Cerne Relief gives, so could be worth a try. 🙂 Tristina

Thank you for your question! I would be cautions using a brush to apply the Mixtion glue, although it can be done. Just be sure to rinse the brush often and definitely DO NOT pour the rinse water in your sink! Instead, use a disposable cut for the rinse water, then pour the rinse water into paper or paper towels in your trash can and throw the cup away... you don't want to get a tacky lining in your water pipes that can not easily be removed. As an alternative, I would use a palette knife to apply the Mixtion Relief. Usually, I take the tip off the Mixtion tube and squirt a bunch of the paste out onto a disposable palette sheet. Then, I pick up the paste on the bottom of my palette knife and have the ability to apply it just as I would any other paste like acrylic gel medium. Afterwards, it is easy to clean off your palette knife with a paper towel. If the paste dries on my palette knife, I just scrape it off with another palette knife. Works like a charm. Thank you for your question! If the tube gets frozen anywhere along it's life, it can damage the gel paste contents and it can go hard. There is nothing to do to fix it other than request a replacement from your art store. I hope this helps! 🙂 Tristina
