The only problem with your video is that now I’m totally unable to apply this stuff without saying “Blam!“ Or “Tah Dah!“… Your sound effects were my favorite part. Thanks for doing this video, it was fun and it was exactly what I needed to know.

Hi, Thanks for the explanation on how to use this product, one question please , if I don’t want the glue to be raised could you use a brush to spread the glue so it is more flat to the surface, could you do that? Thanks

Thank you for your question! If I want a thinner application of the Mixtion Relief then I use a palette knife to apply it. I find this method is better than attempting to use a brush for application because the brush can end up sticky when dry whereas the metal palette knife is easy to wipe off quickly after use. As an alternative, there is metal leaf "sizing" which is fluid and dries tacky. Here is a link to Pebeo's brush-on Mixtion paste glue liquid: amzn.to/48PZiwp . I would apply this with a throw away brush like a sponge brush. Please note that as an Amazon Affiliate I earn commissions from qualifying orders. I hope this helps! 😍 Tristina

I tried using the “Pebo gedo mirror pen kit” to add a gold leaf effect to a specific area of my painting but the transfer left lots of patches on the canvas. I am thinking of using this instead but I wanted to know if it would be possible to spread the glue using a paint brush as opposed to just straight from the tube? I’m looking to transfer the gold in a large oval shape so the I wouldn’t be able to use straight lines. Also, Great video 👍 you really highlighted how easy the application process is.

Thank you for your question! I would be cautions using a brush to apply the Mixtion glue, although it can be done. Just be sure to rinse the brush often and definitely DO NOT pour the rinse water in your sink! Instead, use a disposable cut for the rinse water, then pour the rinse water into paper or paper towels in your trash can and throw the cup away... you don't want to get a tacky lining in your water pipes that can not easily be removed. As an alternative, I would use a palette knife to apply the Mixtion Relief. Usually, I take the tip off the Mixtion tube and squirt a bunch of the paste out onto a disposable palette sheet. Then, I pick up the paste on the bottom of my palette knife and have the ability to apply it just as I would any other paste like acrylic gel medium. Afterwards, it is easy to clean off your palette knife with a paper towel. If the paste dries on my palette knife, I just scrape it off with another palette knife. Works like a charm. Hope this helps! 🙂 Tristina

I bought this and it is so hard to get anything out of the tube. Yours is flowing out so smoothly. Is there anything I can do to make this work? Thanks!
@TristinaDietzElmesArtist9 ай бұрын
Thank you for your question! If the tube gets frozen anywhere along it's life, it can damage the gel paste contents and it can go hard. There is nothing to do to fix it other than request a replacement from your art store. I hope this helps! 🙂 Tristina

Can you use on canvas and coat with resin

I tried to decorate scrapbook page. The foil was removing the glue. 😢 What did I do wrong?
@TristinaDietzElmesArtist9 ай бұрын
Hmmm, that's interesting... May I suggest you try to cover the area in which you want to apply the mixtion relief glue with either an acrylic spray or brush on an acrylic medium like gloss or mat medium before applying the glue. I know sometimes depending on the absorbency of the paper you can get mixed results, but putting the glue on a sealed or non-porous surface it grips very well. I hope this helps! 🙂 Tristina

How long do we need to wait before applying the gold foil?
@TristinaDietzElmesArtist9 ай бұрын
Thank you for your question! You need to wait until the Mixtion Relief or other sizing turns CLEAR and is tacky. Then, it is ready to receive the mirror foils. Bear in mind this tacky sizing can be used with not only mirror foil type leafing, but can also be used with loose metal leaf. I hope this helps! Enjoy, 🙂 Tristina

If you use it on resin would have to put a clear coat on top please? Thanks
@TristinaDietzElmesArtist9 ай бұрын
Thank you for your question! You do not have to coat the Pebeo mirror leaf with a clear coat on top; the color is a shiny plastic and not an actual metal, so it does not tarnish over time as does metal based leafing. However, if you would like to coat the Mirror Leaf with a clear coat of gloss acrylic or resin, you may do so. Just be sure to test any spray top coat first because sometimes the solvents in spray cans can damage plastics. I hope this helps! 🙂 Tristina

Thank you for your question! I have also been on the look out for a white "transfer foil" in order to get that white patent leather look. Let us know if you find one! 🙂 Tristina
