You are slip stitching in the back loop not the front.
@woodcampercrochetcrafts8 күн бұрын
It helps if you look at the slip stitch from the row you just finished. Identify the back loop from that row. When you turn your work that back loops is you front loop on the other size. A lot of people get confused with this but I assure you I am working in the front loop.

My hat ended up with a weird point at the top when I finished. Any ideas why this could have happened?
@woodcampercrochetcrafts13 күн бұрын
I am sorry to hear that. It is really hard to say but it could be when you seemed it together, the tension, or possibly dropped stitches. Wish I could be more help but it is hard to say without examining the finished product.

Do you have to have all original patterns to be able to sell what you make ?
@epicnamepwns124211 күн бұрын
It depends. Some designers state that their patterns are for personal use only (this includes gifts) and others that you're free to sell the finished items with some of these specifying that they wish to be linked or credited as the designer. Prohibitions or requirements beyond resale and redistribition of the actual pattern might not be legally sustainable, but personally I would skip patterns with anything of that sort to which I could not easily comply. There are plenty of patterns both free and purchased without restrictions that might be difficult to honor as well as plenty of objects that don't really require a pattern. If it is an original pattern of your own creation you can sell the item, the pattern, neither, or both as you see fit.

@epicnamepwns1242 thanks so much, that is a really good point!

This is only my second project after picking crochet back up after about ten years and your tutorial has been so helpful!! I also appreciate the cuts where you let us do the single stitch rows on our own so I can switch to listening to music for a second and then come back for more instruction once I’m done!
@woodcampercrochetcrafts17 күн бұрын
That is such a nice comment, thank you. Obviously you still remember even after 10 years as I don’t really classify this as a beginner project! Yes, no one wants to watch me crochet the entire row! I like listening to music as well when I crochet. Thanks for watching.

If you do 3-6 months, do you still start off with a chain of 17
@woodcampercrochetcraftsАй бұрын
Yes you still start by chaining 17 for the cuff but instead of crocheting 18 rows you crochet 20. Then for rows 1-17 (in the body of the mitten) add an additional stitch at the beginning and end of each row.
@user-sj4mb8bz2oАй бұрын
@@woodcampercrochetcraftsokay so for the body, you wouldn't just add a stitch to the beginning and end of only row one? You would add to all of them? And what about when you get to row 10 and decrease?
@woodcampercrochetcraftsАй бұрын
@user-sj4mb8bz2o to all the rows until you get the the decrease. You have two extra stitches in each row so for the decrease rows you do one extra decrease.

Soooo, I’m confused. Using 3 weight yarn, and 5 mm hook, after I chain 51, the chain doesn’t fully wrap around my head. So can I increase my chains to make it fit and then just follow the pattern as normal? Does it get bigger as you go?
@woodcampercrochetcraftsАй бұрын
The pattern is worked flat not in the round so no need to measure the chain around your head. The chain is the height of the hat with enough extra for a “cuff”.

I worked along with you on the patter and THOUGHT I was doing well; until I got to the end and had three pieces to put together for the hat. I must have misunderstood you. I thought you said "do the same pattern two more times". ( duh!!!) I interpreted it as 3 separate pieces and now I realize you must have meant "CONTINUE ON With the same work....just starting with Row 1 again". Dang. I have to rip everything out and begin again, which I hope I'll do. You may want to clarify that in your directions....otherwise I thought you were very clear and I really liked working along with you. Thanks. Clare

Question about doing the ribbing. How are you counting the ribbing rows? We chain 13 and SC back down for 12 then slip stitch for 2 then sc back up the chain for 12. Is each direction a row to get to 24? How many rows did you complete in this video for the ribbing? That may help me.
