“They are” but it’s just a whole opposed too an actual valve. 5.3 V8 2011 Same issue. Catch can seems too be working. Now I’m not sure though if the C.case Ventilator I added too the catch can, is disrupting the actual C.Case line’s pressure though 🤔

I agree I use a hacksaw also. I love how sometimes when you change them they have odd sizes mixed in... Standard sizes are 5/8" and 3/4". Sometimes because your life is not interesting enough... throw a 1/2" in there once in a while. Between straight connectors, 3-way connectors and odd size adapters the right parts are not always available in the same supply store.

Thank you for the video. I used your video for my 4.0 4Runner with the same serpentine shred issue. Although seems not as bad as yours, but my pristine engine compartment was coated in oil, whole underside of truck, etc. I was able to do all the work from above. I pulled my upper shroud and fan, not terribly difficult. Left the coolant tank attached to shroud. Sharp aluminum edges on top of radiator, so layed an old towel across to be sure I didn't get cut. It ultimately was rather simple. I overthought removing the crank bolt. Ultimately and easily my Ryobi cheap impact wrench pulled it off with 22mm socket. Similar to you, the harmonic balancer essentially slid right off. For install I bought a $1 1.5 inch black PVC coupler from Home Depot and worked perfect to squarely tap the seal into place. The torque for the bolt was 185lbs. I was able to jam a medium length Harbor Freight lever bar into the balancer and wedge/hold it as I got my 185 lb torque. Loaner torque wrench from parts storebecause my basic one stops at 150lbs. Call first, many may not have the high lb torque available I have come across in past. I was very concerned about doing this as I have not dealt much with such core engine work, but it ended up being much easier than many other of my DIY repairs. Honestly, the most PITA part was getting the serpentine correctly lined up at the end.

I took the valve covers off my then 13 year old V-8 truck engine for the first time. It was shiny clean with no sludge or discolouring at all, I couldn’t believe it looked like new inside. 5,000 or less synthetic oil change intervals since new are paying off.

@jojopotato9419 On any oil change, I do not go over 5 to 7500 miles 7500 miles is pushing it. Most of your upgraded filters are good 45 thousand to seventy five hundred miles. If you just get the cheap one in a quick loop oil change place, those are rated for about three thousand milesMost of your upgraded filters are good for 5000 to 7500 miles. I was changing my oil every 5k but since 200k I noticed it starts burning a quart every 500-1000 (depending on terrain and loads) miles after 3000k and the oil is darker,so I’ve reduced it to 3k. Full synthetic on a commercially run 2014 RAV4 300-600 daily with lots of idle time.
