Why not the other two solutions?? Is there any restriction given in the qn stating *x* is an Integer?

AB+BC+AC=100+200+300= 600 We can write it as =(A+B+C)(A+B+C)=600 =2(A+B+C)=600 =(A+B+C)=600÷2 =(A+B+C)=300
@SmokalotOPott4 күн бұрын
That’s is not correct, ab+ac+bc is not 2(a+b+c).

We can solve it in this way also (a × b) ÷( b × c) =100 ÷ 200 a ÷ c = 1/2 or a = c ÷ 2 Put this value of 'a' in equation c × a = 300 c × c ÷ 2 = 300 c^2 = 600 c = sq root of 600 i.e (10×sq root of 6 = c) c × a = 300 so 10 sq root 6 × a = 300 a = 300 ÷ (10 sq root 6) a = 30 ÷ sq root 6 or (30 × sq root 6) ÷ 6 This gives a = 5 × sq root 6 Putting this value of 'a' in a × b = 100 we get (5 × sq root 6 ) × b = 100 b = 100 ÷ ( 5 × sq root 6) b = 20 ÷ sq root 6 or 20 × sq root 6 ÷ ( 6) i.e b =10 × sq root 6 ÷ (3) So (a + b + c ) = 5 × sq root 6 + 10 sq root 6 ÷ (3) + 10 sq root 6 Solving we get ( 15 × sq root 6 + 10 × sq root 6 + 30 × sq root 6 ) ÷ ( 3) i.e (55 × sq root 6) ÷( 3) (a +b + c) = (55 sq root 6)÷(3)

That's the hard way to solve the problem. First make the guess that there is a simple x that solves the problem, simple meaning it's an integer. So factor 360 as 6(10) and factor x^3+4x^2 as x^2(x+4). The answer x=6 is staring you in the face. Now since you have a cubic, you know there might be other solutions. So write the cubic as x^3+4x^2-360 =0 and divide by (x-6). The result it a quadratic equation, which you can solve with the quadratic formula.

Just take 4th roots on both sides. a⁴=(a-1)⁴ a=(a-1)e^(2πni/4) a=(a-1)e^(πni/2) a=e^(πni/2) / (-1+e^(πni/2)) n=0, you get 1/0. It doesn't work, but I guess ∞ is kind of applicable as an extended answer. n=1, you get i/(i-1)=1/2 - i/2 n=2, you get -1/(-1-1)=1/2 n=3, you get -i/(-i-1)=1/2 + i/2

Multiply everything by i and you find that zi = 1 - z. But zi = z + i and for that reason z = (1 - i)/2
@UNOREBAIXADO.2 ай бұрын
What? If you multiple by i we get (Z+i).i=(zi).i Zi=Zi²-i²=(Z-1).i² That's not Zi= 1-Z

No need for division. Just multiply it out, set the equation equal to 0 by putting all on the left hand side, and then solve the equations for the real and imaginary parts- which are a+b=0 and a-b=1

There are multiple ways to factor a cubic equation. The one we used in this video, it's like a trial-and-error process
@konroh22 ай бұрын
@@zetutor Thanks, I can appreciate the beauty of this, but it seems harder than seeing cubes and squares of numbers. Trial and error just finding something that can be factored out like a-5. Are other ways more complex math?

also, if you put all the numbers of a line next to each other, you have the number equal to 11 to the power of that line (if you count the first 1 as line 0), i found this out by accident and idk if any1 else has noticed
