Multiply everything by i and you find that zi = 1 - z. But zi = z + i and for that reason z = (1 - i)/2

What? If you multiple by i we get (Z+i).i=(zi).i Zi=Zi²-i²=(Z-1).i² That's not Zi= 1-Z

No need for division. Just multiply it out, set the equation equal to 0 by putting all on the left hand side, and then solve the equations for the real and imaginary parts- which are a+b=0 and a-b=1
