The 3rd song is an early version of Winning it All apparently. So cool to hear this!

I've only discovered these guys in the last couple of years. Have no idea how I missed them in the 80's. But holy smoke , they were amazing. I put them right up there with Zebra and Triumph. All that power trio mojo. RIP guys. I wish I got to see you back in the day.

@@joebonansinga1284 Yep same here, I first heard of them in 2020 and ever since then I've been collecting any raraties of theirs I can find. Great band, unfortunately widely unappreciated outside the US, Mexico and Brazil and some other places. Cheers for the comment mate.

John Spinks is one of the best guitarists I ever heard. He should be in the same conversation with Eddie Van Halen, Jimmy Hendrix, and Neil Schon.

When I came home on leave from Army Basic Training in August of 1987, I jumped in my car and turned on the local FM station in North Carolina. The first song I heard was "Back in the High Life Again" by Steve Winwood. Then I heard, "This is the new one from The Outfield. It's called 'Since You've Been Gone!' "
@AmericanFlyOnTheWall3 ай бұрын
That voice inspired a generation. I am retired and living in the Philippines now, but I still hear the original version of this song everywhere. I hear it in grocery stores, in McDonald's, on FM radio, and even on the street corner. Boom boxes are still a thing here.

If I'm not mistaken, this was the show where organizers were going to charge 10 or 20 bucks just to park, and John got PISSED. He HATED it when shysters tried to take advantage of the fans. I believe the fee was reduced to basically nothing.

Yes the same guitar riff was used on 'Winning It All' on the Rockeye album from 1992, however the riff had been around in demos of 'Turn And Run' since 1983.

Shame they never had the success in the UK that they had in the US. Met the lads a number of times in 1982/83 when we shared the same rehearsal/recording studios (Scarf) in E3 London. Great days.

@@CarrotTime-x8w Not a great deal more apart from Allan (Scarf owner) use to play us their demos after we had finished rehearsing. They were nice lads (especially Alan Jackman) who one day popped in to play drums with us as our drummer was running late. Scarf was a great studio, but did have around 20 concrete steps to access and very steep for lumping the gear up - still at 22 you can take on the world (and understand why the drummer use to hire a kit). All that has now been demolished to make way for 'improvements' (or so they call it). Great memories and wish I could go back to live out the rest of my life, as today's world is sh1te and full of mentally ill people and corrupt governments. D :)

I discovered "your love" in my adolescence, I was born in 1990, today I'm 33 years old, "your love" was very successful in my country, Brazil, whenever it played somewhere, everyone loved it! In 2023, out of curiosity, I started listening to other outfield songs, looking for new things and getting to know the band more! today in 2024 I can say that they are one of my favorite rock bands from the 80s! "61 seconds" is my favorite! "THE OUTFIELD FOREVER ❤️"
