Hi mate, how did you shoot anamorphic with it? I'd want to shoot the gh2 with a 2x anamorphic lens. Appreciate your work and personality.
@madsciencefilms2 күн бұрын
Thank you mate. I attached the sirui 1.25x anamorphic adapter to my micro four thirds lens and then de-squeezed in post. I also used a field monitor that supports anamorphic de-squeeze for framing and composition . I have video on my personal channel about this setup, search @jamesmorrisey on KZbin.
@DanielJosephBour2 күн бұрын
@@madsciencefilms I need to buy a field monitor as well. I have an old Isco Cinema lens that I'm shooting with (mounted on old Nikkor lenses) from time to time but it's hard to judge if the shot is in focus or not. I was hoping the GH2 hack could unlock in-camera anamorphic desqueeze. I guess I'll have to just get a monitor then. Thanks for your answer :)

Hey. Good video by the way 👍🏻 I have a question, though. If i got the money to either buy a bokeh lens for MFT ecosystem (i have the exact GF6), or to buy Canon camera (like the EOS 700 D for instance), sell my GF6, and continuing my photography journey in the APS-C ecosystem, which one should i choose? Thanks in advance Cheers
@madsciencefilms2 күн бұрын
Good question! This kinda depends on the type of photography you want to get into and the budget. If you’re happy with micro four thirds then spend the money on good lenses for the type of photography you enjoy., and/or upgrade the Lumix G6. Equally if you like the Canon cameras with their fantastic colour science and dual pixel AF then start the journey with them - depending on how deep into the m43 system you are?? Explore what each have and if either can supply you the kit you need for your preferred photography.

You still have the GH2? Except the 40D, you have a LUMIX POWERHOUSE ARMY. awesome. I bought one, but I can't find an adapter that works with the mic input on the gh2. Do you have any recommendations or links for a specific one that works? Anways, love your videos.

I'm very much into Olympus Pen series cameras, however l bought an ''as new'' G6 a few weeks ago, mainly for the convenience of the viewfinder, plus the fact all my Olympus lenses fit!...l like the small dimensions and the ease of use...its not overly complicated. Regarding the 'rocker switch' and the wheel. in manual mode the rocker changes the aperture, the wheel the shutter speed...in other modes this varies....l don't use the camera for video, only stills, although l have a number of mic set-ups.... Rode.... for GoPro and DJl action cameras. So a bit of experimentation may be in the offing....Was this a good purchase ?, If you're not into all the latest tech....absolutely...Some fine examples are availably, mostly by those who want to buy into the latest tech/fad......

Gracias.

I'm a hobby photographer and usually use bridge cameras for Simplicity or sometimes compact cameras for convenience but a few months ago I decided to invest in DSLR cameras for versitiliy because when using a bridge camera you can select the iso settings you have very little control over the appature and shutter speed as those are controlled to some extent the scene mode that you select in the build in menus and whatever the camera decides so the picture doesn't always come out the way that you want it to I started off by getting an older but very affordable canon 1000D that was very close weight wise that I am used to with bridge cameras then a few weeks later by pure luck came across a cheap canon 7D mark II that I just had to snap up because they are an as absolutely great camera that are extremely well Built even if they are quite a bit Heavier than the standard canon cameras I consider the trade off to be worth it the strange thing with me is I like different kinds of cameras but the two that I absolutely cannot stand are phone cameras and those tiny dinky action cameras I don't consider either type To be a proper camera I suppose it's because I am old school and got interested n photography back in the early 80s when film Cameras ruled and only started to take it back up after a 22 year break in the early 2000s because I came to a point where film was dissapering and affordable digital cameras were not quite up to snuff unless you dropped a ton of money on a high end professional camera that at that time had half decent sensors

Thank you very much for the video! I have been using this camera in ethnography film project and totally love the colours. I have been meaning to upgrade because I would like to use higher ISO and have a bit of stabilisation (not digital) but couldn’t really find an option that would have such nice colours. (For example, Sony a7 colours are just too acid for me, and Canon c100 or c300 are big and hard to carry around). I would really appreciate if you could recommend me an upgrade! Thank you so much again!

Hi, thanks for your comment. Budget plays a part with this question. Money no issue then go for Sony A7s III - this a spectacular camera for low light video shooting and body stabilisation and has amazing AF. £1000 and below then maybe look at the S5 original - has really good low light capabilities and body stabilisation plus, in my opinion, amazing colour science. Sub £500 perhaps look at the GH5 in the secnid hand market - Has decent low light paired with fast lenses, incredible body stabilisation (paired with optical stabilised lenses you can gimbal like shots) and lovely colours. Hope this helps.

Has the infamous autofocus (central point) bug been resolved now in 2024 with firmware updates? I got the 70D back in 2015 and I LOVED the images coming out of it except it couldn't focus properly when using OVF, central point and lenses faster than 2.8. It was just hopeless. Sent first copy to Canon for calibration. Didn't work. Returned it to the store and got another copy. Same thing. I ended up returning that one as well and never looked back. But I still do miss those files. I have an R7 but the files are not quite the same for whatever reason.

Back then, such high production quality was, lets just say you could count on ONE hand the amount of channels that did that.

@@madsciencefilms I think it was called the AF101 in Europe, but it is basically the Panasonic Micro 4/3 version of a C100. It is only 1080p and 8 bit 4.2.0 internally on SD cards (on a crappy AVCHD codec), but it has HDMI and SDI output along with dual XLR's and built in ND filters. You can find them very cheap used.

The GF6 seems like a mini GH2. The 50 interlaced 1080 is the same as 25 progressive 1080. This is due to the AVCHD codec at the time. For a small camera, I use the GX800/GX850/GX880/GF9/GF10, the smallest real DSLM that shoots 4k but with some manual shooting caveats for video (like the GF7). It's rather cheap and I think you'd really enjoy it, but it'll cost more than the GF6. You're right about the start-up time- faster than the GH6, G9ii, S5ii, S5iix, GH7.
