Our Jack Russell is a mix with a Yorkie but her spirit is 98% Jack Russell. She is very much like others are described here. She was a rescue. We got her at the age of 4. In the past 3 years she has come out of the shell she was in when we got her and is a "real dog" now. We think she lived in an apartment, kept in a crate all day long every day before we got her, partly because her feet were as soft as puppy feet. She was afraid of all dogs and most people. Now her favorite dog to play with is the neighbor's huge standard poodle mix that weighs at least 75 pounds. At first she wasn't interested in being outside other than for necessities. Now she will spend hours in the back yard waiting for a chance to stalk a squirrel. She was afraid of the neighbors and now she thinks that if she can see them it must be OK to go visit them. We're a retired couple and she is the highlight of every day. She is an absolute delight and an endless source of entertainment.

All I can say and recommend. If you plan to own a dog. As soon as you walk out of your house with the dog on a leash. You must be in Complete Control of Your Dog at All Times. Consistent Routine Training Daily. Have complete control of your dog all times. In Any Situation that Can happen at any moment. Train. Train. Trained dogs. Best dogs ever.

Well my experience with 2 of my neighbor's. Have Irish Wolfhound's, Both dog's live in Small apartments. There Not trained well at all, by there owners. Both dogs Not getting socialized with humans nor other dogs. They sit in windows and constantly barking at people and dogs that walk by them. I see their owners having a hard time handling there dogs on supposed to be a simple walk. One Irish wolfhound got Loose from its owner on property. Barked and Came after my dog Mack he's a 80% Transylvanian Hound dog. 20 % Rottweiler Lab Mix. They're wolfhound barked and came up to my dog and started Growling. Showing his Teeth to my dog. Rottweiler Hound dog Mack. I was scared. Try stay Calm. Immediately got my dog walked away. No eye contact. We walked back to my house. Put my dog inside house. I went back outside to help catch the Neighbors wolfhound. He was able to catch her dog with the leash and get her dog back home. Thank God everyday the two dogs did not fight. That could have easily turned into a very nasty situation fortunately we walked away. No eye contact and it went safe. 🙏🙏

I have a 2 year old jack russell x patterdale terrier, a beautiful chocolate brown with tan and white patches. What a clever girl she is, honestly I hear her brain ticking constantly, but she is so calm and loving too. We bought her as a tiny puppy 2 years ago, my other little JRT mix died 5 months before we got her, i would not consider a dog without the jack russell mix in it, they love you like no other dog can❤

I have both an CS and an ACS. HUGE differnece1 My English cocker definitely has mor energy and drive! She needs walking and/or bal throwing a lot every day (our yard is fence in). She doesn't bark at all on her walks, which is a huge plus. I even run with her in the park. She's my "pacer". ;) ACS? Love them but they willbark at every chance, sleep much more and are just more mellow than my ECS. The ACS need a LOT more grooming and brushing than the ECS. At least, the hunting ECS. She has very little feathering, compared to the crazy hair on our ACS! Love them both. I'l alays own cockers.

So I have had a mountain curr for over a year now raised it from a puppy bought it from a previous owner and at first everything was really good and then when he got older about a year you started to act extremely skittish and anytime when I would go outside or my family would go outside he would look at us and run underneath the deck is gone to the point where now we can't even get them to go inside in his crate and we have to crawl under there and unfortunately I have to pull them out because food won't again to come out our voices won't get him to come out And another issue is that My family ran into Very whiny so I unfortunately had to put them up for adoption because he was too much so be warned if you are looking to get a mountain curr those are some of the things you could run into being very skittish very vocal destructive and more I loved my dog he was a good boy but at the end of the day it was just too much I don't know what caused these issues As a puppy he was perfectly fine but once he became one year old that's when it really started to change and we tried putting puppy class and not even that worked incredibly stubborn from what I've been told about this dog breed

I had an English Cocker as a kid we lived in Washington State. He was a good family dog but never attached to on family member he’s lived to be 23 years old. The American Cocker in that area seamed to be inter-bread in our area being temperamental, easy to bite people that’s my experience anyway.

My JRT, Barney, loved water and could swim like a fish, he was sweet as sugar with all people he met away from home, and after I invited a person into our house/yard, he was sweet to visitors too. He was fearless; as in-he feared NOTHING! On 4th of July and during thunder storms, my 95 lb dog, Zeus, cowered in bed, while little big dog, ran from window to window barking/ thundering back…until he grew bored. Then he’d go snuggle Zeus to try to comfort him. He died at age 15, brain tumor. I’ll never stop grieving his loss. JRTs…wonderful souls.💕🐾
