Try playing it with the "Oasis, Wonderwall" chords. Pinky remains on the high G.

I know I’ve said it on another version of this, but my favorite song of all time! My wife had never heard it and put it in our cruising list. This song breaks my heart every time. ❤️👍🏻

Niko tuned down a step and capo on 4. Basic cords #G #C and #A minor. At least how he shows it. There are some nice hammers and pull offs. Like a pro he can transcend one cord into the next. Simple to play but it’s played with style. I really dig the hammers and pull offs in southern music! 🇺🇸

Loved this Cuz! You crawled under the sheets with that song! I've heard you sing, probably a thousand songs. Loved every one of them! Honest engine. With that being said, there's probably 25 or so that you sing that makes me think, "by God, that song can't be done any better than that, by anyone. I know you will disagree, that's ok. I mean, what do you expect from someone who can't see the stage for the trees. lmao. Elvis after being awarded by the Jaycees, 'Top Ten Men of 1970' in his acceptance speech included this poem that has stuck with me from when I was a kid because I really liked it. "Without a song, the day would never end. Without a song, the road would never have been. When things go wrong, a man ain't got a friend, Without a song." ......... "So, I Keep Singin' the Song!" I didn't realize till just a few moments ago while looking for the exact wording to repeat it you, that Elvis screwed up what he was actually trying to say. The above is not what he actually said. I like Elvis, so I fixed it for him. Roy Hamilton was a famous R&B guy who Elvis admired. He had a song out titled "Without A Song". which used those words. Wow, learn something new every day. Before I got off the interstate I was going to say, "You keep singin' the song and I'll keep holding down the bleachers. LMAO

I believe it's okay when John takes liberties with his own lyrics, but I think he does a disservice to the person who penned them when he does it to other folks' music. The lyric is "try to hide my sorrow from the people I meet, and get along with it all" and not something about playing songs for the people I meet. It adds context an richness to the song, so I'm not sure why Prine changed it, now I won't have an opportunity again to ask unless I bump into him on the other side. kzbin.info/www/bejne/q36WioWFpsSWgrs or kzbin.info/www/bejne/eXjCpaRrm9Scn9k
