Hi Andy. Thank you for this wonderful tribute to Tom T. Hall. Clayton Delaney is one of his best. When it first was released, I wore out a tape replaying it. Your sang it beautifully. I saw a video where Tom was singing this song to a small audience, and after he sang that line you mentioned (good lord likes a little picking...), he looked aside and said, "God, I hope so."
