Americans have for all their life been told over and over they “live in the best country in the world”. That’s Not a fact. Truth is based upon facts. Take as an example a Democracy”. I’ve noticed that if you’re dressing the part, Karens are less likely to bother you. I see these videos happening a lot. And every time the pilot is dressed for a backyard barbecue, wearing street clothes etc. I wear a polo shirt with a high-vis vest with the company name and pilot number on the back. In the clear pocket on my chest is the UAS license in plain sight. If you’re dressed for business, they’ll look even more ridiculous bothering a man trying to conduct legit business.

The funny thing is, the karen calling the cops was the one breaking the law and in danger of getting arrested. It is a federal crime to take down an aircraft, either directly or indirectly, by interfearing with the pilot, causing a flight incident. This includes both manned and unmanned aircraft and drone pilots. Calling the cops to report a non-crime is also illegal and can get you arrested, but usually only if you lie. I was surprised a cop even showed up. They could have handled this over the phone.

Were there even any credituals in 2018? The 107 thing is pretty recent, so there wasn't any license or anything back then.

Public perception towards cameras in the sky has changed some since 2018, regardless, as a motorcyclist and drone pilot I will at times suggest to friends and acquaintances to occasionally look up instead down at the phone. One can't help but notice that surveillance is not uncommon

If it happened to me, I would quietly pack up and move to another location. No arguing, Avoid the hassle.
