Buying stocks might seem easy, but picking the right one without a solid plan is tough. I've been trying to grow my $100K portfolio, but the tricky part is not having clear plans for when to buy and sell. Any tips on this would really help.

I would love to get away from the big banks, but does Laurentian have competitive rates? Unfortunately, the bottom line would be the bottom line for me to switch over but I would have the benefit and give me more than the other big banks will not give.

Thanks for overview. I’m moving away from Mutual Funds for DIY in similar funds for less fees. I had printed & reviewed both XGRO & XEQT, and the only difference seems to be split w/bonds. It doesn’t look like I’ll need both ETF’s to accomplish my investing goals.

WFG is a broker dealer and doesn’t sell its own products like you mentioned. WFG agents utilize 200+ A rated Fortune 500 companies like Nationwide, Fidelity, Prudential who are on the WFG platform to sell suitable products/solutions/services.

You are here just to bash WFG because they are a threat to the companies you are promoting. I always go with the person who cant defend themselves. Your point about social outcast, sales vs recruiting are not valid. You dont have to bash to promote. You are wrong. Only thing anyone should take from this is that WFG is legit

So I’ve been breaking down your video to train my guys but one thing that stuck out is the claim that WFG charges annual fees. Where do you get such claims from?? Also WFG does not have its own products as it is a non-captive group. So the “products” WFG offers are from grade A companies such as NationWide, Athene, PacificLife etc.

You can say selling on shopify is scam hard waste of time although you be buying from shopify from somebody like you selling it to you. So wfg is not different. If you think it's scam just stay broke and yea they don't have high percentage but it doesn't make em scam.

Well nothing is easy. Business takes time and you need to work your butt off. The easy thing is to not ask questions and just say it's scam I'm not doing it. You can say selling on amazon shopify walmart eBay is scam or doesn't work investing is hard it's scam only losers do that and I'm not a fan of finance but building wealth takes time and if you wanna be paid the first day, I suggest you go to McDonald's and make burgers for 60 years and covid will kill you cuz the government don't want you to take care of you if you not using your hands and making money.

I'm sorry if you covered it, but is it possible to transfer a dividend or drip to a separate account? Say earning them in an RESP and having them deposited to a TFSA?
@WealthAwesome

Probably depends on the functionalities of your broker. Transferring them would incur a withdrawal from that tax advantages account (e.g RESP), so you will have to deal with that.

Compensation drives conduct. The compensation package at WFG encourages building a team as the difference between the 36% and 100% is spread between the various levels. The upper levels supervise the newly licensed agents in analyzing the needs of the clients and matching them up with suitable products. They also assist them in building their presentations skill set in presenting the educational sessions, products and the business opportunity. There are people in WFG who were independent Life Insurance brokers. The challenge was with retaining the people they hired and trained. Once trained and licensed there was nothing. to stop the protege from quitting and going to another company or even setting up shop nearby and becoming their direct competition With WFG the protege not only has the freedom to continue building their client base and business but is encouraged and assisted in doing. "Cause it expands the downline, of the person who initially brought them into the business. THIS is how some WFG reps make $$$$$$. and is the MLM aspect of the company. Representatives can just build their own independent client base but their compensation will remain at the 36% level. Such an Insurance broker would be better off at the more conventional companies where their compensation starts out at a much higher level. However building and developing a viable and sustainable work force AS WELL as their own client base is where the big money can be made. If you have 40 people in your downline and only 20 of them are regular producers with new or expanded business, that is still way more lucrative than being in business for yourself as you make commissions when they do so. Fall off and attrition can be high so it takes a lot of mentoring work to do this - hence the increased commissions as the size of your downline grows. There are unfortunately some people who are short sighted and lack integrity and conduct the business in an inappropriate way that negatively impacts clients and new recruits. And, as a fish rots from the head, if the head of an office is more business minded than client minded, and has a moral compass that does not point due north, they can create and enable a predatory business culture. Reputable licensed agents can refuse to work with newly licensed agents who consistently puts their commissions before the needs of the client. They know this damages their own business reputation and the profession!. The recently qualified agent will not be able to sell products, as all their business has to be signed off by their up-line. I was approached by three different WFG reps before I finally accepted an invitation and joined with a particular group - and I did so 'cause of the low pressure, 100% transparency and full integrity. My condolences for anyone whose experience with WFG, or any other financial institution, left them feeling disrespected and taken advantage of.

Every financial brokerage in Canada is independently owned and operated. Maybe you had a bad experience with one in the USA. My team and the team I am on does Monday morning product training, so we get to learn straight from the company reps ie: EVEREST, IVARI, iA, Empire Life, Equitable Life etc etc etc. We are also trained every Saturday morning in investments, markets, how products work and also a lot of personal development and growth talk. In Canada, anyone licensed is under supervision for the first 1 or 2 years, depending on the province and the plans we submit for folks has to be signed off on. And I personally have not had any plans collapse on me in my 4 years in. I've seen folks make 100k in their first year as well, so it depends on how hard one hustles, same as any business, you want to make it, then work hard. Also a Senior partner's commission is 66% not 64% and they get overrides on their own offices, as any financial brokerage, so with the overrides and bonuses from WFG its more like 80-85% payout and yes TransAmerica and Aegon deserve to take their piece of the pie as well. After all they are supplying all the back office work and doing all the websites and contracts to give us product partners. I think you should do some more research, accurately this time. Maybe interview Steve Siebold or Ed Mylett. I have my flag planted. Being aligned with Steve Holbrook and our entire team here in B.C and Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario and all across Canada has literally saved my life. This company brought me back to my daughter and my family. It brought me back. Gave me hope, still gives me hope. Allows me to be me, supports me and loves me. Flag planted.

This guy made a dumb move. Monarchy has legal issues and owners currently cannot sell units. Rental yields are low in Vietnam too. Plus when foreigners buy condos in Vietnam they only get the condo for 49 years, so it's really a lease. You don't own it. And the value declines each year because it's a terminal contract. And this guy thinks he knows about investing? lol. Too funny.

i think its all dependant on leadership within any organization. I do work at wfg part time. i Make a decent income nothing crazy. But the support and mentorship i recieve from my leaders is second to none. ive double my income in my full time career from the associations with the firm. It's like any other company end of the day. there are some amazing agents out there. but there are alot of bad people as well. meeting the right person in any company can change your life.
