How powerful is the electric motor and at what RPM is it reduced to?

The motor is 1.1kw 1400rpm, and the chopping rpm is just over 200 cpm

Can I ask what HP electric motor you are using? I've got a motor but it's quite big and with electricity the price it is I want to use the smallest possible motor.

My motors are 240v, 1.1kw/1.5hp and 1400rpm

I know this video is old, but would suggest a belt to feed the wood and something over the splitter to prevent splinters from flying all over the place. Apart from that, really cool machine.

attach a christmas tree wrapping machine to the end were the wood comes out and cut bags filled to the length of your choosing:) kinda like making sausages;) or maybe make a smaller attachment to hold the netting instead, you seem to have some skills (we had a bucket with the bottom cut out and a machine similar to yours), ok just a suggestion so you dont have to pick up all the wood off the floor and you can sell it by the bagful to:) ps. i sold kindling and xmas trees in the past, its why i know this, just sayin lol, have a good one! this type of netting here kzbin.info/www/bejne/qaPaYXiMqZtgbNk

Pretty cool. Will it split it if you put the wood in against the grain? Like if you took a 1" x 4" x 8' long board and slide it in? Probably not Im guessing but I was just curious. Cool video man!

Thanks for the comment, no it definitely won't cut against the grain, that's why the pallet boards need cut to length to fit into the channel..

To get the speed i wanted i use a small 70mm pulley on the motor and a 500mm pulley on the main shaft

Thanks, The motor is a 1400 rpm, with the smallest pully available for the motor and a 500mm large pully which brings the blade stroke speed to around 200rpm
