I think she is a 9w1! Don’t nines also hate upsetting others, not because they fear upsetting them, but because they think they don’t deserve to express themselves? Don’t nines fear loss of connection to others, and so diminish themselves? Try accepting yourself as a nine and live with it, and see if it helps you to understand yourself and your past behaviors. Confusing your type like this is so 9. You have definitely been put through so much stress. ❤

Thanks for sharing your discussion about your experience. I like that you have highlighted the differences between what might be considered as “peace” by each of the types under discussion. It seems to me that if you agree with the idea of growth paths then the peace of the six energy is more of an active adaptation.😊

I'm a 6w7. I really enjoyed this, thank you. I also thought I was a 9 for a while but looking at everything, 6 makes more sense. It helps to look back at your life and see what the prevalent patterns have been throughout your whole life. I don't really want to influence people too much with this because I think everybody's on their own journey of self-discovery, but from watching this video, I truly think you're a 6. One of the things that was said to me about me being a 6 vs a 9 was that I seem very "present" to who I'm talking to. 9s have a habit of checking out even when in conversation, and while I definitely notice myself doing that too at times (I do have 9 in my tritype), usually people would see me as more directly engaging. Your energy is very 6. Even your very specific questioning is 6-like. You seem to want to KNOW and want to have some kind of structured means to understand something on a deeper level - digging, questioning, taking notes, trying to get clarification, etc. That is 6. I've chilled out a bit in that sense now but when I look back at my childhood, I recall people finding me a lot to take because of my constant questions. I was not chill like a 9 at all when I was a kid. I GO TO 9 when I'm more relaxed and chill, but that is not my most common natural state. A few things to think about 🙂

I just found out I'm a 9. I felt so known as I read the description of 9. When your guest was talking about being invisible, that deeply resonated, and I cried. I recently flipped from being angry about being invisible to seeing it as a blessing and a superpower. But ironically, I think 9s love being truly seen. We just go invisible so as not to deal with being misunderstood and to harmonize with our environment. I will be listening to the next videos. Thank you for doing this podcast❤

I've been thinking that I was a 6 for a while. But then I started thinking about how avoidant I can be and how much I procastinate, and how I'm pretty disengaged from groups? I'm pretty passive and I can cloister myself away from the world either in times of stress or in times of peace. Which feels very 9? But I'm also a textbook worrier. I feel caught between the 6 head and the 9 body, haha. I left with more questions than answers, but this video is very enlightening as a whole. Though something tells me that this constant questioning of my enneagram type and my fervor to figure this out points towards 6.

@@thelindseyhaeger Aw man! I thought I was closer to answering that question. It's so hard to find the distinction between seeking security and retaining peace. I feel like 6w5 and 9w1 can look identical, especially if the 6 is as undisciplined as I am.
@DetlefRathmer3 жыл бұрын
Dear Lindsey, thank you for your great video ideas. With regard to your own typing according to the Enneagram (maybe you're sure by now) I see you very clearly as the social nine of the Enneagram. Your "quality of gaze" already shows me the energy of the 9. In addition, there are many other indications for this, e.g. the eternal polarity "believing-doubting", which is much more typical for the 9 than for the 6 (the latter would like to appear more secure on the outside and tend to hide their inner insecurity outwardly), to name just a few points. The main reason why you are unsure about your enneagram fixation is, in my opinion, above all the fact that you, as a social type 9, are a so-called countertype who hides its passion from yourself, unconsciously attacks it or unconsciously negates it. As a result, the social nine, like any other countertype, regularly fluctuates between his integration and disintegration point and by thinking about his own type, he is in the stress point of 6 and is due to the associated "blocked head energy" totally confused about his own identity. Thank you for your great contributions👍🌈

I was sure i was a six, because i question authority. But i learned when stressed i turn into a six, because when i am at peace i am my 9 self and authority figures stress me out because of past trauma. But this made it really hard. Honestly, knowing i am a 9 gives me peace because i feel like it gives me more self understanding for why i dont feel like i represent myself. I can never trade who i am for someone's visions of who i ought to be. I'll go with the flow until i feel like i wake up to someone trying to change me, then that person better watch out because i may flip from my 9w1 ways to a 9w8

I’m at 15:36 and already knew that you’re a 6. 😄 6s become like a 3 when under stress, trying to take control, marshal up all the resources to *survive*. 9s only become like 3s when things are in smooth sail mode, and under stress they’re the ones who have racing thoughts, can’t sleep at night, etc., essentially taking up traits of a 6.

I am struggling literally with this very thing. Am i a six or a nine?! It’s so tricky. I have to at the end of the day ask myself, “do i erase my needs?” Is that my motivation? To totally cater to the needs of those around me so i feel comfortable and so THEY feel comfortable…. The answer is no. Do I trust people to a fault? No. I am super guarded and suspicious of peoples motives always. Do I avoid things out of fear? Yes? I was like you, I avoid things that are “unpleasant and discomforting” but i think that’s a nice way of saying i am afraid of not being in control of the outcome. We are afraid to do things open ended things like make phone calls sometimes bc we don’t know where the conversation will lead. We have to be prepared right?!? Lol But honestly your overthinking of this in the thoughtful and accurate (6) way that you did proves you are a six. We can’t trust our own inner knowing. If you ask yourself deep down you know the answer. JMO

Some points I resonate with 9s, while other points I feel like there's a lot of "vagueness" in the 9s perspective on their personality to where I question my type. In the exploration that started, I have recently come across your channel, blog and podcast and voraciously checked out all the content. It has been really very very helpful to understand the intrinsic motivations, traits and journey to health for a 9. In today's video, you surprised me by your questions about the similarities between the 3 types. It made me to ponder "what am I really?".
