The aFe exhaust comes with a resonator. The stock gets replaced with the aFe one. You can hear the exhaust when cruising in 7th gear on the highway in Sport mode, but in normal mode in 8th gear you hear nothing. There is essentially no drone, or at least no sound that you don't want, just a nice exhaust sound that can be drowned out by turning on the stereo. Hope that helps.

Thanks bro. I absolutely love the silver color; it almost never looks dirty even when it is. If I didn't get white, I would have got the silver. More mods and a dyno tune coming this spring, hopefully about April when the weather here clears up.

I agree, deeper, not too loud, and no drone. Plus, I like that when in sport mode some of the exhaust doesn't go thru the muffler giving it flow and a nice sound. I have more parts to install, but this summer was a bust. The weather was awful here and I wasn't able to get much done, so now I have a new plan. Come spring I'm heading down to National Speed in Richmond VA to get my parts installed, plus a downpipe, and a dyno tune. Stay tuned.

No problem. I have the aFe intake as well, just haven't installed it yet. This summer was a bust and at first I was going to go with a JB4 but now I think I'm going with a dyno tune. Since we only have about 2 months left here before winter hits I'm not sure if I'll get it done this year or not. I'm going to have National Speed in Virginia do the work and dyno tune, so it'll be a road trip. I did get some parts installed and that video is coming soon. Stayed tuned.

I don't know for sure, but I did see the GR Supra on the Car Wow channel, which is a UK channel and the Supra sounded the same in those videos. I'm working on editing the video for my aFe takeda cat back exhaust right now. Hope to have that up by this weekend.

Ya the pops are crazy, I love them. I've heard the Veloster N going down the road, sounded nice, lots of pops. I just had an aFe Takeda exhaust installed, video coming as soon as the weather cooperates. Same pops and farts as stock just a deeper, fuller tone to it. Hope to get that video done soon.

I used to think like you, but now that I'm used to the HUD I can't live without it. It is so much safer just looking forward rather than looking down all the time. This HUD shows a lot more than I show in the video, some comes up automatically, some you have to press a button on the steering wheel. Not distracting at all, when you don't need it I don't even notice it's there. It came as part of the Premium model, no extra cost. My smart phone is from 2017 so the nav in the car is probably more up to date and it receives updates over the air. The toyota sos feature can be a life saver, if you're not able to call 911 due to injury or knocked out it calls for you. I actually don't use my phone in the car at all except for an occasional phone call. The Supra has a built-in hard drive so all my music plays from the media unit, not my phone. I don't do sirius either. When a car has all the features you want, then your phone isn't needed. I guess it comes down to what tech do you need while driving and what device can give you what you need. For me the HUD and the media system is all I need, it has it all. I'll have more videos on the Supra's features and options coming soon.

Ya the HUD only comes with the premium. When I bought my 2020 I got the premium with every package that they offered like the driver assist package, the blind spot monitoring package, upgraded stereo, and dynamic cruise control. I think the HUD was standard for the premium in 2020 but in later year models Toyota's website shows it as an option. I really like the HUD. I got so used to it that it's weird to drive a car without it. Enjoy that A91 and make sure to stop back or subscribe because I have a lot of videos I'll being putting out soon, just waiting for winter to end.

The GR Supra does not have a soft limiter. Redlines at 7000 rpm.

If electric cars weren't being pushed, I truly believe Toyota would have made the 3jzgte engine, but there just wasn't enough time to engineer it with governments around the world forcing people to electric in 5-12 years. The B58 is a great engine but we all love the jz engines.

My guess is because that body style was 20 years ago and current design trends are different now. The MK5 looks more like the Toyota 2000 GT from the 1960's. Also, I'm guessing there were specs and guidelines they had to stay within in order to build it on top of the BMW Z4 platform. It does have some characteristics from the MK4, like the nose and roof line.

I agree the stock exhaust sounds really good, one of the best stock sounds out there. I have an aFe catback exhaust I still need to install. I choose that exhaust because in the sounds clips it sounded closest to the stock. I have a Sounds of Supra video on my channel you might like too. Enjoy.

@@raywhitley5536 And another fun fact, the MK3 was the best-selling supra and the MK4 was the worst selling supra. Yes the MK5 is based on the Z4 and has BMW interior, engine, and transmission, but without those the car wouldn't have ever been made. With electric coming Toyota had to partner with BMW to make it happen now, or it would have never happened since Toyota didn't have an inline 6 and development for a new Toyota inline 6 would have been well over 10 years. Many manufacturers partner with others to make their cars happen, just the way it is now.

No need to be jealous bro, I'm just a regular guy who wanted a Supra so bad I spent a year saving every penny I could so I could buy it. I got a really good price as well. I figured sacrificing a year of fun stuff so I could have 20 years of fun with a Supra was a fair trade off. Hopefully this coming spring/summer I'll get all my mods installed. I agree. When the 2021 came out, everyone who got one said you 2020 guys got ripped off, but in the end we find out the 2020 not only puts down the same horsepower and torque as the 2021+ with the typical bolt-on mods, but it's also more fun to drive, and sounds better. When I bought my 2020 Premium, they had a 2021 Premium for sale as well, but after test driving both cars, I choose the 2020. It was more playful and was $4500 cheaper (marked down because it had been sitting on the lot for 9 months).

@@angrycar Yeah the 2020's do the mega pops :) I loved mine to death, same got a 2020 new for a steal of 43k. Those times are loooonngggg gone. My 23 BRZ just came in today actually, terrible time to buy a car- but they seem to be holding there value well so imma scoop that up.

Yes it is. Stock exhaust, stock tune. Toyota/BMW did a good job on it.

I'm no expert but my understanding of what makes the "fart" sound is when the car shifts the ecu changes the timing of when the spark plugs fire, instead of firing when the piston is in the up position with the exhaust valve closed, it fires when the piston is in the down position with the exhaust value open. This cause the "explosion" of gas/air/spark to be vented straight thru the exhaust and you get the "fart" sound. Since exhaust gases are used to spin the turbo, it does this to keep the turbo spooled when shifting and when letting off the gas.

I noticed it only did it one time in the video. Does sport mode or launch control make it fart?

@@slideup610 Launch control doesn't matter, but you definitely have to be in Sport mode. Also, how much throttle you give it matters too. If you just drive normally, accelerate normally, you won't get the fart. But full throttle off a lunch or slow acceleration to full throttle will give the fart too. You can eventually learn when and how it farts and pretty much have it do it on command. I have two more videos on my channel which show more examples of the exhaust and it's sound. One is the full version of this short video, and another is called GR Supra Exhaust Sounds. Those 2 videos will give you better examples of the Supra sounds including the farts, crackles, pops, and bangs. Enjoy!

Nice man, enjoy. Hardest part is waiting to get thru the 1500-mile break in period before you can really get on it. I have a bunch of mods waiting to be installed, just haven't got to them yet, always working, and in 2 months car will be put away for the winter. You plan to mod it or keep it stock? Either way, it's a blast to drive and everywhere you go people will be checking it out. I get people wanting pictures or giving thumbs up on the road or even stopping me to ask about almost every day. Arguably one of the most popular modern cars.

I will keep it mostly stock just going to do a full exhaust system and tune

AWD would be sweet. Appreciate the kind words, I'm trying to grow the channel but it's just me for now and we only get like 6-7 months of warm weather where I live, hard to find time. And I still haven't seen another Supra in the area where I live. I'm guessing someone else bought one around here, just haven't found them yet. Most guys around here have muscle cars or trucks. I know people love the mods videos so hopefully once I start the performance mods it'll help the channel grow.

Ya the manual should be really fun to drive. I'm guessing the auto will be a few ticks faster though just for the fact that most people can't shift as fast as the bmw Z8 transmission.

Yes it does. Displays the speed limit and your speed at all times. A few of the things it displays takes over the screen momentarily, but then the speed limit and your speed come back when your done with that function. It actually shows a bit more than I show in the video like alerts of low gas, low tire pressure, doors open, things like that, it'll flash and beep if the anti-collision system kicks in, and the nav function shows things like exit and route signs and displays graphics of the road in say a multilane highway so you know exactly where to go. It's extremely useful and I'm glad I got the model that has it.

@@angrycar Thanks very much, my older BMW HUD does not show the speed limit like my Holden (Australian version of Chevy SS manual which also shows the tachometer and shift lights which is great). I’m glad BMW have updated.

I have the Premium. In the USA the Premium is the same as your Legend Edition. The Supra with the 3 liter B58 is so much more car than the 2 liter, so good choice, you won't regret it.

@@louisuhhh_4546 Ya I agree, it does sound great. Just how an exhaust for a half BMW, half Toyota import should like from the factory. I have not modded the exhaust yet, but I do have an AFE Takeda cat back exhaust waiting to be installed. I've actually had it for over a year, just sitting. Problem is I don't have a lift and you really need one for this since the Supra exhaust is all one piece. I live in a rural area and there are only a couple tuner shops around. Both closed for covid last summer and this summer one closed cause their moving and the other won't return my calls or emails. I also have a AFE intake, Injen charge pipe, and a JB4 tuner waiting to be installed. It's quite frustrating, but like you said, the stock exhaust sounds great so that makes it all right. I'll get them installed someday.

Yes, it's an option, not standard, on the premium only. Since mine is a 2020 not sure what option package it's part of now, but on mine I got the driver assist package and the blind spot monitoring package, so I have the heads up display, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert with auto braking, parking sensors, lane departure alerts, radar cruise control with auto braking, 500w jbl stereo, dual power seats with memory, and the 8.8 inch nav screen. Some of these are standard features now, but not the heads up display. I really like it, very useful and cool.

Cool, I'm sure you'll love it. Get ready for all the people going nuts over the car everywhere you go. People love the Supra. I'm still trying to get my parts installed. I don't have a lift for my exhaust install, and where I live there are only 2 tuner shops within 100 miles. One is closed because it's moving locations and the other won't answer or return my calls. Someday I'll get these parts installed, but it's so fun stock, I'm really not in a big hurry either.

The general consensus for the 3.0 is that the 2020 is a bit more aggressive sounding and has lots more pops and bangs. The 2021 and newer does have a bit of a deeper tone, but less pops and bangs, more touring sounding in my opinion. My guess is the sound difference is because the 2021+ has the 6-port exhaust manifold and the 2020 has the 2-port. I might be biased but I like the 2020 sound better. The 2.0, while it sounds nice, doesn't compare to the 3.0. I saw some side-by-side 2020 and 2021 comparison videos before on you tube, you should be able to find some and check it out.

Ya inside the car Toyota (BMW) pumps in fake "exhaust" sound thru the sub woofer. Definitely effects the real sound of the exhaust. Some like it, some don't. I can turn it off using Bimmercode, but that's one setting I haven't done yet. Maybe I'll give it a try and see which way I like better. I have an aFe exhaust waiting to be installed, as soon as I do that I'll make a video for that exhaust as well. Thanks for checking out my video.

Yes it does. That's one reason why I haven't installed my aFe exhaust yet. The stock exhaust really sounds great already. Hopefully in next few weeks I'll get the aFe installed and I'll post a video on it and a comparison to stock.
